Buffalo Wild Wings respects the right of individuals to carry firearms but we do not believe they are appropriate inside of a public restaurant. We are focused on the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all of our guests and have elected to exercise our right to restrict the carrying of firearms in our restaurants. We regret any inconvenience this may cause but believe that this policy is in the best interest of all of our guests and our Team Members.

Sincerely
Buffalo Wild Wings

I respect your right to make such restrictions. Unfortunately for you, your competitors understand that lawfully armed citizens are peaceful and good for business. I carry every day in restaurants all over Las Vegas and have absolutely no impact upon the comfort and enjoyment of their guests. I do believe I impact their safety however. FBI statistics show that lawfully armed citizens reduce violent crime. Whether this is true, I at least know I impact my own safety.

I hope criminals don't find out about your policies. After all, we wouldn't want them knowing you've done the hard part and disarmed all their potential victims for them. I also hope you realize that a sign on a door stating NO FIREARMS will not stop a criminal coming in to rob the place. It only stops the people who OBEY the rules, the ones you have nothing to fear from in the first place.

I for one will be patronizing restaurants which actually value my safety (rather than pretend to by powerless policies) and respect my right to defend myself from such criminals.

quote "We are focused on the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all of our guests and have elected to exercise our right to restrict the carrying of firearms in our restaurants."

What exactly do they do for our safety? I have never seen an armed guard there protecting my family so I could eat with out worrying about become a victom!

I had kept my friends on Bersa Talk informed on the OC we did Sunday. Here is a great response I received from Philinmedford.

Quote:

I'd probably just copy/paste the numerous hits on Google with the observation that perhaps the bad guys have figured out that nobody can carry in the restaurants. Maybe a link to the famous Luby's incident? Anyway, the quote " Best interest of our guests and our Team Members" seems to be contradicted in the very first result.

I guess the armed robbers in Virginia, Louisiana, Indiana, Missouri and Ohio didn't know BWW's policy against firearms or else these vicious crimes wouldn't have occurred.

Lucky their management here in Nevada is on the ball and posted that sign!

From another Bersa Talk member, Lance22:

"The Buffalo Wild Wings here in Eagan, MN is not posted and I carry in there every time I visit (I always carry, BTW). When I sit down I remove my suit jacket / sport coat and sit down, I guess at that point I'm open carrying in BWW which is perfectly legal in MN.

Nobody says anything, best I can tell nobody notices."

Is anyone thinking it may not be corporate, but an ignorant manager at the NLV location?

C'mon, Tim, I'm counting on you. I didn't drive from Pahrump last Sunday just to pick up trash in your neck of the woods. I did it for the cause.

And I think with your energy and drive, try to get as many sites/forums together as we can. (In the words of Rodney, can't we all get along?)

Sunday brought at least 2 forums together (member wise) for the cleanup. Not the best turnout, but for the first time out, with such short meeting, not bad at all! In 103 degree heat!

Bersa Talk, who have offered substantial info BWW related, is another site I belong to.

Onall these sites, I'm only a peon. No moderator,or anything else. But I'm becoming involved.

Tophog, thanks for the encouragement. I have a lot of balls up in the air right now. Neither my wife nor myself are working presently, and one of my main focuses is to get back to work. I am negotiating a couple of agreements for work for myself and trying to get her new business off the ground. On top of all that, we're still unpacking from our move back here from New Hampshire.

That being said, I am still working hard on the issues at hand. A few emails to BWW, but they're unlikely to have a major impact. As there are plenty of restaurants in town that are cool with OC, it's a low priority in my mind. More pressing are the preemption laws in the local municipalities that need changed most urgently.

After I spoke with legislative counsel, my own attorney, NRA, CC Park Police and CC DA's office, I'm reconsidering my whole notion of getting charged at a park. CCDA has made a couple of open-minded gestures and I'm right now trying to put together some documentation in the hopes of getting beyond the impasse where we find ourselves today. It looks promising, and I hope to reveal more as the time becomes appropriate.

I know several (possibly all) BWW in VA are posted
It is illegal to CC inside a restaurant or club that serves alcohol in VA.
The criminals know it is UAVRZ.

My letter to BWW Corp. (still Practicing)

I was turned away at your Door for your "no firearms policy" I then went to your competitor and had lunch with approx. 30 other people in our group. Your manager cited safety as a reason for the policy. I respectfully counter that safety was not a concern in the resturaunt we ate lunch in. Also we were expressly invited back. Your resturaunt will however remain on my radar as I feel you are putting your employees and customers at risk. Virginia just passed a law allowing lawfull possesion in resturaunts, as they found out (VA TECH) criminals pay attn. to gun free zones such as yours. And throughout history you see the tragic story played out over and over. Imagine if the Jews in Germany had not been subject to gun control prior to their extermination. Or closer to home would we still have the black mark of slavery if in our History if the African nations were equaly armed ? same for the native Americans. Those are larger practices of the your policy and humans always prey on "weaker" humans, your policy cultivates that prey. I find it shamefull that you cast a negative light on law abiding citizens who are willing to protect themselves, loved ones, as well as your hard working employees from harm. It has occured to me that the organizations I belong to, NRA, GOA, GONV, NRA-ILA need to comprise a list of all buisnesses that support our rights, so that we the millions of members can support those that support us. Incorrect
OC
has always been allowed in VA restaurants that serve alcohol, no law was past recently, private property laws apply.

The law that would have allowed CC in restaurants/clubs that serve alcohol was struck down by the Governor

-Restaurants & clubs serving alcohol for on-premises consumption (concealed carry prohibited, open carry NOT prohibited; owners and employees exempted)(§18.2-308.J3)

I wish your governor would take an example from Nevada. Las Vegas is the land of 24 hour bars, and casinos serve countless free drinks every day. Guns are not dangerous merely because there is a beer tap a few feet away, or because others are enjoying a margarita.

Guns & alcoho don't mix, so if you're drinking and carrying, THEN you might have a problem. But the limit is also reasonable too. It's not illegal to have a gun and drink a beer or glass of wine. It's illegal to be in possession with a BAC of 0.10 or greater, unless you're at home. And that's a law that makes sense.

Oh, by the way, a quick search of the Las Vegas news will reveal no massacres at bars or restaurants, despite such a dangerous law.

We're holding off on the Sunset picnic now. In an agreement with the Clark County DA's office I agreed not to carry into a park until an Atty General opinion is rendered. CCDA agreed to request a formal opinion from them.
