    Quoting the NRA web site:

" As we previously reported, Governor Tim Kaine (D) vetoed five pro-gun bills which passed with strong bi-partisan support in both the Senate and House (Senate Bill 1035, Senate Bill 877, Senate Bill 1528, House Bill 1851, and House Bill 2528). The General Assembly will meet on Wednesday, April 8 to consider overriding the Governor’s vetoes. "

I contacted everyone that I could and voiced my support for these laws. It is my thought that all but one will be overridden. As all but one passed with veto-proof margins in the first vote before sending the bills to the Governor.

The one that will fail is SB1035. We need 5 full votes to get it passed in the Senate and just 1 vote to get it passed in the house. Now I can see 1 Delegate changing his/her vote and getting this passed..... but we will not get the 5 votes we need. Rights don't matter to these people, only the next election does, period.

There is a decent chance that if McDonnel gets elected in 2010 we may have a chance.

I contacted Puller and Amundson (both "I support your gun rights but" I really don't) legislators - last week.

I sent final "I expect you to vote to override" this morning. I have very low expectations.

The House is in recess now until 5:00 PM. They are waiting for the Senate to finish their first round through the calendar.

The Senate cannot vote on SB1035 until the House passes it again first. We need only ONE vote in the house to get it passed there assuming all that voted for it the first time vote for it again.

The House can't vote on the vetoed Senate bills untill the Senate votes to overide and sends them to the House. Not the other way around.

    ^ This.

We need to actively campaign to have those who voted against the constitution removed from their elected position.

    http://capwiz.com/gunowners/home/

Just plug in your zip code and then it will give you the direct contact info.

I have personally found that you get a better chance at getting a response if you use your senators official web form or direct email as opposed to Capwiz or any other third party "email your rep" tool.

Apparently Miller & Northam don't 'get it'. Guess it's time to demand a clear explanation of why they feel I should not be able to carry concealed while dining out at a store that chose to get an ABC onwhen I'm NOT drinking anything alcoholic.
