In the spring election just held two counties in Southern Illinois had a resoltion supporting LTC legislation in Illinois. Voters in Pope county voted 90% yes and those in Johnson county 84% yes. Sounds like most of the population wouldn't have a problem if you open carried in rural areas, not in a vehicle of course. Would the sheriffs departments recognize your right to open carry, not sure but probably. Pope county probably has about the highest percentage of FOID card holders in the state. Both are very rural counties, especially Pope. Johnson county contains Goreville which passed a Kennesaw Georgia type ordinance requiring households to have firearms back when Morton Grove Illinois passed a handgun ban.
