Hey does anyone have the officialand currentword on Las Vegas, Nevada regarding OC and the supposed new firearm registration law. My Son, his Wife, and my 2 grandchildren are there for the week end and asked me to look up the OC laws for Nevada and I was shocked to see things have taken an ugly change with the registration law for Clark County only. Apparently its being disputed because state law says that city or county law can't supersede state law and state law doesn't require registration or at least at the time of the Clark County law being enacted state law had not required registration. this took place some time in 2007 from what I read. The post in so many words stated that if your going to be in Clark County for more than 24 hrs. you must go to the sheriff dept. and register your weapon. But I also read that they were having problems with prosecuting such cases in which a person arrives in Clark on the weekend the dept. entity that performs the registration process closes at5:00 PM on Fridays and doesn't open until Monday morning making it impossible to comply with the law. And as most of us know Vegas is usually a weekend thing for most people. It was suggested to arrive after 5:00 PM and leave before opening time Monday. I've always OC in all parts of Nevada and have never been approached about it from anyone. I guess I'm lucky to not have been charged with a crime I guess?
