2 anti OC malls file for bankruptcy....

Two major Tucson malls owned by GGP of Scheet-cago announce bankruptcy filings. Both malls ban shoppers from carrying any weapons. Anyone seen OC are escorted out by mall ninjas.

It's true GGP weapons ban probably has nothing to do with bankruptcy proceedings, BUT...I like to remember what the man sez:"What goes around, comes around".:celebrate

That company has two malls in my area and I've always just ignored their gun-buster signs. Unfortunately bankruptcy doesn't mean they're shuting down. Chapter 11 will allow them to "restructure their debt" (i.e., delay payment to everyone they owe until they either return to solvency or sink into total ruin).

Since I don't frequent any 'malls'.... it doesn't matter to me... altho I'd hate to see Tucson locals lose employment due to this.

Not exactly gun related, but knife open carry I guess:

I can't remember the name of the mall in Mesa, but I remember going to one there back in 2000 and they had a sign out front saying you can't carry weapons. Well, I carried a belt knife everywhere I went, and just ignored the sign. I made it about 20 paces before the mall security guards stopped me and asked me to leave my knife in my car. (To be fair, it was a very large knife i carried... something like a 10" bowie... not exactly low-profile.)

So, I comply because I really wanted to check out one of the shops I had heard about. I go in, and the cutlery shop I heard about did in fact sell very nice knives/swords. I purchased a belt knife, which I promptly strapped on, and a katana which I just carried in hand (they didn't have big enough bags to fit it in). I carried both around the mall for an hour or so, without being bothered by the security guards.

Now I live in CA, where it's hard to carry anything that could be useful for self defense.
