Spotsylvania Town Center apparent change in policy

Entered the mall entrance by COSTCO and notice sign was changed to:

" No weapons except as allowed by federal and state laws......"

Checked the entrance near Wendy's and that sign said the same thing....

Looks like a policy shift, at least as far as posting goes....

Sounds to me like a sign with absolutely zero meaning.

"We have a policy against you breaking the law."

I'm not sure why they bother putting up a sign, unless it's to discourage folks who can't understand English very well, or those who won't bother to think too deeply about what the sign actually means. I'm just hoping that their managers don't fit into either category.

I asked them if there was a change in policy regarding firearms in the mall, his reply was there is no change but the policy is if they see you openly carrying a firearm they ask you to leave but that they do not look for or ask you to leave if you conceal carry your firearm. I thanked him for the information and stated that since I can now carry, at least concealled, I would start shopping in the mall again.
