The AG's opinion is great news, does anyone have an idea how this will affect the DNR and their stance on carrying a firearm day before deer season, or any other situation they object to.

It is unlikely that the AG opinion will have any voluntary effect on the DNR. The DNR has rule making authority that is prima facie. That means any rule the DNR makes is considered law until determined otherwise by a court. I doubt that the DNR will give up any of it's strangle-hold on us until forced by court action.
