Nice to see nova at the show Friday. Willards BBQ is great--highly recommended. I was there with a co-worker I brought into the fold in the last 6 months. He is awaiting delivery of his first firearm (in MD) and remarked today that the show was like a circus carnival. After a couple hours at the show he realized he wanted to buy an AR-15 as well. I guess we better go shooting next weekend and give him a intro to various models.
I found an oddity Mosin Nagant 31/90 for $cheap (Remington manufactured, dated 1917, Tzar stamped, no serial # and no sights), couple boxes of 7.62 Nagant ammo, a few pounds powder.
Saturday, I got some ammo cans, CZ-52 & Tokarov mags, and AR-15 spare parts. I don't know if anyone noticed, but one of the ammo dealers (two big guys in shorts) had SS109 M855 steel core 5.56 ammo at $600 a case. I thought they had it priced lower than that on Friday, but I guess it sold so fast they figured they should test the price elasticity.
On Sunday I found small pistol primers from a guy with only 1/2 table on the north (or left from entrance) wall. I started getting reloading equipment recently, but I have this vague memory that 1000 primers used to be about $30...instead of $70 at the show. Is that about right? I picked up AR-15 bolts and .308 mags as well.
Anyway, the fun show lived up to it's name for sure!!!
Now...let's go to the range!
