As I have been legally 21 for about 18.5 hours, I decided to OC anywhere I needed to go. This afternoon my grandmother asked if I would take her to KFC. I put my HK USP 9mm in my Safariland ALS holster and carried it C3 for easy transition to CPL-less car carry. I got double takes, sideways stares, but nobody said anything, or called the cops, and none showed up.

Because, the collegiate 21 Run is a night to kind of remember. Most of my 21 run was told to me the next day by my Fraternity brothers who went along.

Of course I bought my XD later that year.

Figured I would just add to this thread rather than start a new one.
Last Thursday I went to the Sheriffs office and got my CPL. Not necessary for OC I know but the car shuffle made it a hassle. It came the next day so I went ahead and OC'd into this little market near the house and bought some milk. Had no problems. Kind of nervous, but less so than the first time.
Tonight I decided to go to Hastings, a video store and pick up something. Had no problems. I noticed them circling around me a bit more. It was pretty obvious what they were doing, watching their eyes meet my face for .25sec then snap to my waist, but they were friendly, and never said anything.
Getting easier. :)
We might go the the Spring Fest here at the Grant County Fairgrounds, but I dont know if Im ready around all those people, and I know I would probably get hassled, probably would be better to CC.
Maybe next year...

I prefer to CC when I know I'm going to be walking through crowds of people too afraid someone may go for the gun and then I have to punch them in the face or what not would just be a hassle. Although I did OC on a really crowded drunk bus here and it was fine.

Quote the law that says it's illegal to be intoxicated and armed at the same time. It's illegal to be in a bar and armed (something that infringes, IMO), but nothing about being intoxicated and armed is in the law, afaik. Stupid, maybe. Illegal, no.

You may in fact be correct compmanio365. I just did a search through the RCW's and could not find anything that mentions intoxicants.

I could have sworn that I read that somewhere but apparently it wasn't in the RCW's and therefor, does not apply. Perhaps there is a WAC somewhere but I have no desire to read through them.

I will however reaffirm my position that it is a really, really bad idea :)

I was on a date with my girlfriend that night and was escorting her back home when I got on the bus I had no Idea there would be that many people and conceal carry was illegal for me at the time and I'm not going to give up my ability for self defense just because other people make bad decisions.

No I was not driving the bus and no I was not drunk I rarely drink and if I plan on having one I won't even touch my weapon one of the reasons I don't drink is because I figure if I'm drunk I give up my ability to defend myself and others (from a moral stand point). I wasn't all that worried OCing on the bus because I was wearing a Serpa holster and kept my arm hanging over it just in case.

Went to Home Depot this afternoon, had no problems. I tried to listen in on their radio conversations, as some of them must be deaf judging by the volume of them, but didn't hear anything. Actually got helped too! lol.

.098 requires two conditions, simply being intoxicated and armed does not qualify for forfeiture, you must also be in a place where a CPL is required, not when a CPL is needed. DUI while a loaded pistol is in the car would be a violation of .098 but walking down the street while carrying concealed and being intoxicated would not be a violation.

I would imagine that OC while intoxicated would most certainly be a considered to warrant the alarm for the safety of others. Drinking and OC no, but being visibly intoxicated, yes.

If I'm not mistaken CC in Washington State requires a permit which I received in late April this event occurred mid March.

True, Washington also requires a CPL to ride in a vehicle with a loaded weapon, including the bus. That makes being on the bus at the time illegal as well.
