Did anyone read about this? As a peace officer in TX I can honestly say this is truly sad. These officers are just asking to be fired and prosecuted.

David
This has been a bit of an open secret for a while but it looks like now it has got some mainstream attention. From the sounds of it the whole of Tehana is corrupt and they are going to find out the hard way that you can't steal with impunity forever.

I'd say load 'em all up, judge and all and ship em down to Huntsville. I'm sure the boys down there will make 'em feel real comfortable and welcome.

42 USC 1983 (1899) is the US Code that will be used to prosecute them. They will never see Huntsville....more like fed time will probably take place.

How close was this town to the one where the new sheriff shut down the jail
that was being run by the inmates?

At least it was a black cop shaking down the motorists, that will keep out the
race baiters from NY, and IL.
Strange laraza and mexico haven't chimed in to burry them under the jail yet.
Guess gov corruption is OK, just don't interfer with criminal activity or your gone.

I'm sort of curious as to any links to Mexican drug cartels. In fact reading this article I was somewhat confused this was taking place in far east Texas. Not that any town is not immune from corruption but considering the current drug cartel border violence from Mexico, this problem seems like something that would take place in the southwest.

I wonder if these cops targeted minorities with the hopes of running across 'coyotes' hauling illegals through. People smugglers often charge several thousand per person and carry cash.

Anyway, just speculating.

Waskom Texas robbed me ! a black hwy patrolmade me sign a ticketfor 86 in a 65, i had no choice other than being shot or arrested than to sign and agree to pay the THEIF !

when I called the Waskom PD to disscuss payment, I jokingly told the kind woman on the other end of the line what had happened to me, she started telling me that she had been hearing that and then she caught herself and never completed the sentence ! I swear this country is getting to be as corrupt as Mexico !

I not only paid the ticket, but an additional $100.00 to keep it off of my record !

I was so mad thatthe cop was just about to pull his gun ! PUNK ! We continued on to the Horse Shoe casino, me an my 3rd crazy wife, where I won $17.500 that night !

So who knows, maybe if that crooked copper hadn't a robbed me when he did, then someone else may have very well got on my two lucky slot machines !

If you went through that and didn't sue them or at a minimum file an official complaint, you deserve all the mistreatment you get. It isn't the country, it is people like you who sit back and get taken advantage of and then just take it instead of fighting back.

While the rest of your story sounds like a tall tale, I have to point out that signing is not agreeing to pay. Signing the ticket is a personal recognizance bond, where you agree to either pay or appear in court to contest the charge.
