There has been much recent discussion about the "socialist gun-grabber" agenda that is supposedly afoot since the new administration got in. I did some checking and was interested to learn that the American Socialist Party proper (Socialist Party USA) only had this to say about the subject in their platform:

11. We support federal buyout programs for arms, federal safety standards and licensing for arms, and community-based public training for gun owners.

This is in the "legal justice" section of their platform, linked here: http://socialistparty-usa.org/platform/civilrights.html. No call for blanket bans or confiscation here, although they do advocate more regulation than anyone here would care for generally.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting.

p.s. there are any number of splinter "red" groups along the socialist/communist spectrum, and I'm sure many are totally anti-gun,so I don't know how representative SPUSA is on this account with regard to the extreme left, although they are one of the principal parties.

well, if they're real sho-nuff communists its quite likely that they have the mindset of every other communist government that has ever existed. If that is the case then one would have to do some research and see if there has ever been a communist government that didn't suppress the right of people to keep and bear arms.

Oxymoronic statements are rationalized too easily . I find that the proper use of adjectives to be helpful as in the following .

The " liberal aggressive progressive socialistic gun-grabber " transnationalist's agenda that is afoot worldwide is being advanced in the United States of America since the Obama administration got in .

History will showeveryexample's outcome of such an agenda.

That last one says closer to "Sndigz" than anything else.

Closest you're going to get phonetically to that in ascii would be "4AH}{"

Hmmm..wonder if this'll work...

Code:
ЧАНЖ
edit: Yes, I "get" that it's visual satire, but having some basic understanding of the alphabet, it just doesn't catch me as it is. Hehehehhe.

The problem I have is that a German, looking at the hitler pic, would still probably look at that and pronounce it acceptably close to "change" even if it didn't make sense. The russian writing not only doesn't mean change, but it wouldn't be pronounced that way either.

I went to law school with an unabashed Stalinist. His hero was Enver Hoxha, wacky dictator of Albania.

He was against gun control. Apparently the shooting of several communists by klansmen during a march in North Carolina in the '80s made an impression on him. He wanted to be able to shoot back.

Of course I'm sure he had plans for AFTER the "comrades" came to power.

I refer to it nowadays as the anti gun political complex, has employees, output, investments, companies, and its own microeconomy. Journalists, public employee unions, LE and its unions and spokespeople, media, nonprofit orgs, PAC's, etc. all generate economic activity with the products being publications, laws, events, and political power. It really has taken on an independent life of its own, a very evil creature.

But Billy, absent Bloomberg, all the good money these days is in being pro gun.

Only one regret about this form of capitalism: wish I had bought stock in Colt or S & W before the election.
