So we had a Young Eagles day today where we introduce kids aged 8-17 to aviation. Our insurance rider demands all ground crew/escorts weare safety vests. Brooke decided to forego her GREEN safety vest gor her little pick up Orange vest that reads GUNS SAVE LIVES.

It started a few conversations with the 35+ kids we flew AND their parents!

I guess because they com in lots of 48 and it is hard enough to get people to come out and pick up litter in ORANGE vests.. if I made them pink I know of only a few that would come.
Pink for the females and orange for the guys!

Helps to make the distinction for those that need the help. :D

In interest of tolerance and non-discrimination, the color choice might not fall exactly along that dividing line. :)

I still think you'd be hard-pressed to get anywhere close to 48 folks who would want to wear a pink vest.

Guns do not do anything. They are tools and it is the one that controls them that can ether make them a force for evil or for good.

The condition of not having a gun can cost lives; whereas having a gun can save lives.

It is the for "want of a nail a kingdom was lost" parable.

Q.E.D. Guns Save Lives

VCDL and others have embraced and promoted this slogan on buttons, hats & t-shirts at many diverse events with great success.

What about the, "owning a gun makes you armed no more than having a guitar makes you a musician," parable?

The condition of walking around in one's own little world is what costs lives. One can take out an active shooter (as an example) with a tackle as easily as they can do the same with a wicked, badassed AR-15. IMHO, shooting the pimple-faced fucker in the face, repeatedly is going to be more fun and satisfying, but now I'm straying off my train of thought.

The brain is the final weapon, everything else is just a tool.

Well, it turns out that "Good people frequently use guns for a variety of good uses, including the saving of lives"would not fit on the VCDL buttons & stickers.

;)

What about armed citizens save lives. That will fit. Beyond that why does everything need to be put on a button or bumper sticker?

A firearm is the most effective self defense tool if you find yourself in an unavoidable situation. You get more than one shot unlike a taser, and it has more effect than pepper spray, and it's louder than yelling at a bad guy to stop trying to kill/rape me.

Think about it. "Guns do not kill people do" as we are known to tell theantgun crowd. So if you use the same logic guns do not save lives people do. You can not have it both ways.

Do seatbelts not save lives?

To kill someone is an action taken by a human. To "save a life" is to prevent something from happening.
