Off the record discussion driven by Ed Peruta who suggested if the CCDL.inc could provide pistol permit training classes at prices less than average with a minimum of 10 people per class it could be a decent moneymaker for the group. Ed had to leave but made his $100 household donation to the group, record made of money donated.
He said we ought to have the pistol/revolver course link on the page as people would look for that, and with a minimum class we could either teach it or have Ed or someone else teach it and do the hands-on (live fire) exercises at a range somewhere.

You forgot to add Tony from Norwalk as a new member! He says the traffic is so bad getting to our meetings at 7:00 that he probably won't make it regularly, but as he's a close friend of Alex and I we'll keep him up to date.

Sorry about missing Tony, I've put him in there at the top.

Lenny - short hand or chicken scratch either way it's hard to read. My MP3 player did a pretty remarkable job of recording the chatter in the room so I used that to double check my notes. It's a 27 meg file so I'll keep them on my PC at home and could burn them to CD or bring them in on a memory stick if anyone is interested in a copy. A few would fit on a CD at this rate 32k mp3 files.

I still had some adrenalin in the system left over from seeing a car on the side of the road turn on its lights and start moving in Milford while I was "slightly exceeding the speed limit" - pucker factor. Hence I sat down and used that energy to get the minutes done. If nothing else Scott will be shocked. haha

Steve, thanks for meeting with us, glad you could make it. And rest assured at some point as the organizations policy takes shape, our format may take a different course.

For now, based on my prior experience Chairing State-wide Orgs, Volunteer Committees for Department Of Corrections, Convention Committees and Public Information Committees, this is the way I feel will best serve the Org.

Again, if the group feels we should change this as we move to a permanent standing committee at some point, then whatever is in the best interest of the Org is what the Org will get.

Seriously great input from yourself and the other new members that attended last night. Thanks again!!

Hi everyone....great minutes Robert.....really outstanding....looks like you all accomplished a lot last evening and am very happy to see more new members made it to the meeting. See you all in June, sorry to have missed last night.

One question...it appears that there may have been some discussion about this venue being used as a bitch board by people from out of state. Were there any suggestions as to how to handle this? I haved refrained from commenting to the "gentlemen" on the inappropriateness of their discussion because I don't wish to encourage them, but they either need to exchange email adresses, take it to a private chat room, or get a hotel room. Can the moderators be of any assistance with this?

Nice job Robert! I thought the meeting was very good and a lot was accomplished. I'll be great, as Scott suggested, when all the legalese is done and we can get down to some business... Thanks to all.

The ony thing that I have a problem with is the wording on a voiting member I checked in my other Org by-laws they both have a member can vote in a election for a officer if he is a member in good standing. A member is in good standing if he makes 1/2 (6) the meetings in a year. Why I am hung up on this is that I work nights roating shift and its not possablefor me to make 2-3 in row thanks again I am off next meeting night I see you all their Steve

We had some discussions earlier in the year about protecting the group from a hostile takeover from anti-gun weenies.

Perhaps some combination of permit holder -or- firearm owner for the important votes like elections.

Worthy of a discussion sometime to keep our group in the hands of the people it was created to serve.

Ira and I have two comments on this topic.

Ira suggests that an accomodation can be made for members whose schedules conflict with meeting times...for this year a combination of meeting and function attendance totaling 6...and in full years a combination of 9.

My suggestion regarding voting requirements of gun ownership etc... we don't want to go there at all. Our Mission statement is quite clear....anyone is welcome as long as they subscribe to the tenet of defending Second Amendment rights. Therefore, if anti-gun persons come..we will cordially ask them to leave as soon as their actions/opinions give indication that they are there under false pretense.
