We really need to have people help man a table during the week. July 7th-10th are the dates we really need people to help out. As was mentioned this will be a big event and we have the chance to reach thousands of people.

Plus it's a great resort town with lots of things to do in the evenings. Bring the family for a day or two.

Well so far the festival is going well. Kirk is doing a heck of a job. He is working the table, helping the NRA with a shooting range (all in a trailer, pretty cool.) and providing security for the event. He is very busy and could use some help.

The event goes on until Friday so if anyone in the area can help him it would be appreciated. I arrived yesterday about 3:00pm and helped out until 9:00pm. I'm here today for the tea party, which should bring in a lot of people.

Side note, one off-duty (with family) Tawas LEO had his son shoot at the NRA range and said all OCers were just radicals. The NRA guy talked with him and defended OCers as just good people that exercise their rights. The LEO never did stop by and talk to us. I guess he didn't want to have his views changed by radicals.

BTW the polish dog with onions was delightful.

Heh, we're radicals for doing what he does every day he goes to work.

Not even considering all the good reasons to open carry, I find it awfully hilarious when police say we're radicals.

I was informed by a peacenick at the Kzoo TEA Party that I am a redneck hick radical... so I asked him what kind a radical he was... a left over hippy skater wannabe eats wheat grass smoothy radical? He got mad and stormed off.

Liberals love to steriotype those of us who don't agree with them but instead of debating when we give it back they storm off and pout.

I tell people I am a conservative and by that I follow the thought process of "all things in moderation" and personal rights and responsibilities first" I am not a republican as I vote my heart. I have voted for every party out there with the exception of the green party and the socialist party over the years.

I guess my final take on this is... if I am a radical for excercising my constututional rights then I am a proud radical!

I can't disagree with telling off a prick, but I would have attempted to engage him in a thoughtful conversation. First I'd have asked what made me a redneck radical, then I'd have politely explained why we here think differently than he does.

It is difficult to maintain your composure when someone suggests that your personal safety, and indeed the very fabric of what made this country is redneck trash in need of being eliminated. But that's the position we're in. The more we can convert people like this, the better off gun rights will be. :?

Trust me there was more to the conversation but he kept interrupting me so finally I just grinned and said what I posted... mind you I never raised my voice and my brother who was standing right next to me asked my what is his problem ? why did he storm off... so then I told him I would explain in the car on the way home.

The point is I guess maybe I shouldn't have called him that but I did it in a joking way and he didn't. Everyone around us heard him call me a readneck radical.. but no one but him heard my final response as I wasn't trying to make a scene.

No some people are too dumb and brainwashed to be changed by words alone. It takes a family member or themselves being put in grave danger or losing there life to change them most of the time ... and even them some of them don't change!

Monday went well wit the Tea Party. Had about 300 or more people there. Band played a couple of songs then people would give a short speech, then the band then a few speeches. I gave a speech about our freedom to bear arms and promoted MOC and SAM.

Kirk is still there until Friday. He needs help. I will say that we did see a half dozen or so people OCing some for the first time. We talked to a lot of people and have given out a lot of brochures. Almost all positive.

One hippy couple asked if I thought OC was a good idea and then gave the propaganda "statistics" about how you are much more likely to be killed with a handgun in the house bla...bla...bla.. I said I wouldn't be here if I thought OC was a bad idea. He then said something about suicide...WHAT! I said I can't control how people feel and stated that people have been killing themselves long before guns were invented. That's when they walked away, but took a brochure.

Things are going great in Tawas. A big thanks to Brian for coming out to help with the table and for giving that great speech. Today i met a gentlman that is on the board of directors for the sportsmans club in tawas and oscoda. He said that he OC's quite a bit around town, but was cc today. I asked him if i could come to the sportsman club and do a OC presintation, but he said he has done that b4 and will be doing it again soon because more and more guy's are asking about oc, so that is a good thing that he is doing. I will try to post a few pic's of the tea party if i figure out how.

I want to thank Kirk for all his work last week. He devoted 10 days to MOC and the Second Amendment March. He should be sainted.

Between the TC and Tawas events MOC handed out almost 700 brochures. Not bad. If every one of those 700 people mentions OC to three friends, and they tell three friends, well you know...that's what grass roots is.

Thanks again Kirk.
