I stopped over to Walmart in Chilton. At this particular time I was not open carrying, but I did stop in sporting good to buy some ammo.

I got into a conversation with the assistant manager about how hard it is to find a box of ammo. Out of a clear blue sky the guy says, "Hey did you know that you can actually carry a gun right here in this store."

It took all I had not to bust out laughing. I said, "Yes sir that is your god given right."

He said, "I never knew that, until a couple of weeks ago there was a guy that came in here about one O'clock in the morning and he was carrying a gun but it wasn't hidden it was right in the open. the next thing I knew the police were here and they arrested him. They ended up letting him go though because he didn't do anything wrong. I never knew I could carry a gun like that."

Now doesn't that just make you smile!!!!!!

It's interesting, because I don't think the police just happened to have shown up out of the blue. I believe they came in response to a call from the Wal-mart manager. Too bad they didn't have a knowledge of the law prior to calling the police on an innocent law-abiding man. And too bad the Chilton police didn't have knowledge of the law prior to getting their butts sued!

Can I smile sadly?
Not everyone is a gunny or stayed awake through civics class, it's good when those people get a gentle poke to remind them about inalienable rights and the country they live in.

LMAO BURN!!! ^

Sounds like you had an interesting conversation Gleason, yeah it's good that some people are learning. Man we have moved far from when a bunch of us met up to supportBradat the Krause trial. I mean imagine it, at least 10 times the amount of people know about open carry since around that time. The conversation you had is just another sign that some are becoming moreaware one way or another.

The thing I think that surprised me the most is that the guy is older than I am and didn't know his rights.

But it sure made me smile that this whole movement is making a difference. You have to like that.

It is sad that people have been so victimized by active suppression of their rights by the media and the government. It makes me smile to realize that the dam is bursting and they can not get away with it any more. We have to push , and push now. Time is not always on our side. The law, the Constitution, the facts, and the culture are all with us at the moment. Rallied against us are the Media, the left, the Universities, and the Progressives... but I repeat myself.

Reminded me of when Nietzsche wrote in Thus Spoke Zarathustra, "That which is falling should be pushed."

It seems to be a forgotten right. That is why we MUST keep up the pressure. The picnics, the Monday (June 22 march), actually open carrying, getting the pamphlet out, etc.

The more educated the public becomes, the more secure our rights will be.

Absolutely !!!!! When the enemy is retreating or in disarray, it is time to ATTACK again! The once-proud Republican Party never learned that, and look where it got them. They thought being "right" meant they could sit back complacently because the socialists would never regain the ability to undo what had been accomplished. For the moment the left recognizes they can't effectively push for control over our rights. That means we now have to push, attack, keep them off balance, and consolidate our gains from recent years.

I remember the beginnings of the democratized concealed carry movement when Marion Hammer got CC passed by the FL legislature in 1987. I thought it was a great idea, and certainly did what little I could at the local level to help it grow. Still, in '87 I never imagined it would grow so quickly and so widely. When WI gets CC (and it WILL) Illinois will stand pathetically alone as the only state in the union that doesn't "get it". Obama said he is against concealed carry, and I'm sure he'd decree the end to it if he could. We have to make sure he and his minions never get that opportunity.

Keep up the great work!
