"The most divisive ticket in modern Virginia history"

"This is so true. We are going to destroy these guys."

DPVA Statement on 2009 GOP Ticket

McDonnell-Bolling-Cuccinelli: 'The Most Divisive Ticket in Modern Virginia History'

RICHMOND - Levar Stoney, Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Virginia, released the following statement Saturday regarding the Republican ticket of Bob McDonnell, Bill Bolling and Ken Cuccinelli:

"Today, Virginia Republicans have chosen the most divisive ticket in modern Virginia history. Bob McDonnell, Bill Bolling and Ken Cuccinelli all have long careers of pushing divisive social issues instead of getting things done for Virginians.

"Virginians want leaders who deliver results, not more roadblocks. The 2009 Republican ticket is a winner for far right-wing ideologues who block progress in Richmond, but it's a loser for working Virginians.

"We need a governor who will continue the common-sense approach of Governor Warner and Governor Kaine. But Bob McDonnell, Bill Bolling and Ken Cuccinelli have all spent decades fighting the bipartisan progress that Virginia has made under Mark Warner and Tim Kaine.

"All three voted against Governor Warner's bipartisan budget that turned our economy around and made Virginia the best state for business. All three opposed Governor Kaine's bipartisan smoking ban in 2009. And, most recently, all three rejected $125 million in unemployment funds to put Virginians back to work.

Attorney General candidate Cuccinelli even accused President Obama of 'put[ting] a gun to the head of this General Assembly' by providing federal funds to help unemployed Virginians.

"While we have plenty of disagreements, we congratulate Bob McDonnell, Bill Bolling and Ken Cuccinelli on their nominations. We look forward to a spirited race to November."

I love how anything that doesn't go along with the socialist progressive viewpoint is now automatically labeled "divisive":lol:

Good then he won't be spending it somewhere else - We can and will beat him here!

The pendulum is definitely swinging in our direction and they know it - lets keep 'em running scared.

Lets keep the heat on. I have become somewhat of a social pariah over myconservative/libertarian views. I will not stop. Where once you may have remained silent, now is the time to speak out.

The statist/collectivist/socialistattempt to control our livesmust be stopped and the dangers of their policies revealed to the masses.

Aneighbor of mine once said to me, after receiving death threats from arsonists, "I'm ok with being judged by who my enemies are." Brave words.

I'm proud to call socialists and statists my enemies.

The once "Silent Majority" is rapidly losing its shyness.

The more that stand up to be counted, the easier it becomes for the rest.

Much like OCing - get over the fear and do it. Take back your country.

Guilt.

Many of these so-called capitalists made their money in some illegal or immoral way, and feel the need to atone for that. Now they think they can make things right by making it much harder for the honest businessmen to get ahead. Kinda like the antis who hate guns, couldn't handle the responsibility of gun ownership, then push for laws that mostly encumber the law-abiding gun owner, under the guise of "crime control". (Riiight!)

As I recall, George Soros has been convicted (in absentia) of financial felonies in a couple of european countries and would be arrested on the spot if he ever went there. Now he wants to tell us how to run (ruin?) our economy. I sure wish we could put him on a plane, get him drunk, and send him back to one of those places so he can "atone" in peace. I'd send him a cake on his birthdays.:celebrate

It is true, though, that each of them has put social issues higher on their priority lists than economic or other issues.

I'm not sure they devote more time Tess, but even if they do, you have to decided if they are better than the Democrats.

"All three voted against Governor Warner's bipartisan budget that turned our economy around and made Virginia the best state for business. These are good votes IMHO! Warner's budget was partly responsible for urbanizing many rural parts of Virginia. That's a hanging offense in my book.

Kaine's Smoking Ban is just another thorn to be ignored. Virginia was founded on tobacco. You don't have to smoke to live here but if people can't accept the heritage, they need to move to Mary Land...with my blessing.

No one in their right mind would have accepted the $125 million with the strings that were attached.

Bill Bolling is the biggest question mark in my mind. I've known him for many years and while he is basically headed in the right direction, he also likes to leave controversial issues alone. He is also a little too pro growth to suit me....but he is still light years ahead of anything the Democrats have offered.

I didn't say "devote more time"; I have indicators they've put them higher on the priority lists.

I'll have to see who the Dems run, and any independents who come out of the woodwork, before deciding, but then I think that the responsible thing to do anyway.

An Independent would be wonderful....If they had a snowballs chance of winning. That would take a very special person right now.

We got Obmamanation in part because people split off to vote independent or did not vote at all.

I'd much rather have to deal with a Republicrat POTUS than the Socialist that we got.

We can not let that happen here in Virginia - we need to send a loud, clear message - No more, It stops here!

No truer words were spoken. But I can give you a heads up on this one. Most weathy capitalists are fiscally conservative and most often socially and politically conservative as well. It's the ones like Turner and Spielburg (along with a lot of others in teh entertainment and media industry) and Bloomberg and on and on who make you wonder how they could support politicians and ideas that seem to be counter to their position in life. It's because they believe themselves to be part of the anointed. The elite of the progressive movement. That they will remain whole and comfortable while the "masses" are kept in line and controlled. They operate under the presumption of receiving privilege and position. The same thing occurred in the former Soviet Union and in Nazi Germany (many don't really that the Nazis were socialists). It is all about control, priviledge , and the trappings of wealth at the expense of controlling the masses and selling them security and freedom from want.

I could go on but you get the picture, I'm sure.

Sounds like the definition of "quisling".

Even though they are synonymous, maybe we should use quisling instead of traitor. MSM might like to say it on air'cause it sounds funny and the unwashed ignorant might not object so loudly to it's usebecause they don't know what it means.

They already got their money, it doesn't matter to them if they make it impossible for others to do so the way they did.
That is one reason.

Another reason is because most of the socialist causes in the western world only go after what I like to call "the working rich" - doctors, lawyers, store owners, restaurant owners. The people who we all rub elbows with every day and may have more than most of us. They make easy targets for resentment of class envy because we see them every day.

Also affected are the lower part of the investor class

But the mega wealthy are rarely truly affected - it only concentrates the power in their hands. They set the rules, and the rules rarely apply to them - check out certain politicians calls to curb our use of energy while wasting more than any 10 normal citizens themselves. They set up a rulership of the elite, and then get to define who that elite is by coercive force rather than the true merit of the marketplace.

Of course gun control is part of that - to keep control of "the masses".

The further back into history I have gone, the more I have found it to be true. Blame the "working rich" while the truly wealthy and powerful stay in the background smiling that the attention of the mob is not on them.
