I was in my cabinet checking some model numbers for a friend yesterday AM. Before I secured the rifles back in their rack, one started to fall toward my face. I reached up and grabbed it but still instinctively jerked my head back...into an exposed nail.

Owwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!! Just a scratch but it's really smarting today.

I'm sure this is somehow proof of how dangerous it is to have guns in the house. Though a friend pointed out that it's proof of how dangerous it is to have guns locked away. If I'd just left them lying around, this wouldn't have happened.

Whoa....guns are dangerous!

Actually, almost any object can be dangerous and lead to maiming or even death. I just heard that Liam Neeson's wife was killed by a fall on, of all things, snow.........

So, be careful with anything involving snow, too. Skiing, snow boarding, sledding and all other related activites dealing with snow...........

Now, why is it again that you have that exposed nail sticking out of the wall at head level?

Well, since I was getting in the back to the seldomly used guns (hence why I needed to double check themodel numbers) it wasn't quite "head level". :?I inherited the space with the house and had gone in and hammered down offending tackboard and nails, but since this was out of the way from where my head would normally go, I missed one. :?:?It's also why I wear a hard hat while working in my attic in the recesses where the roof nails come through. :?:?:?
