Open carry in Montanna?

I looked at the map on the main page and Montanna is listed as a "gold star open carry state". What does this mean? does it mean that the authorities don't hassle you and are used to people open carrying?

I want to go there for vacation soon and I'm looking to see exactly where I can and can't open carry.
