In the two Virginia Citizen Defense League PAC alerts sent out tonight, the group appears to support gun owners voting in whatever party's primary has the most important races going on - Virginia is an open primary state so registered voters can vote in any party's primary, if they hold one.

This strategy is reminiscent of Frederick the Great's "interior lines" strategy in which his army would quickly rush from the interior of Prussia to fight which ever enemy’s army was most pressing – France, Russia, or Austria. Likelwise Virginia gun owners should vote in whicher primary is most pressing.

The Republicans held a convention this year for the state officer election, so the only “Republican” primaries are a few Delegate races, and apparently VCDL received surveys in some and wants you to vote in them.

But for most Virginian gun owners, there’s only one place to vote come Tuesday – in the Democratic party primary which is open to all, and to vote for Brian Moran to send a powerful pro-gun message to current and future candidates.

In the event that you are considering voting in the Democratic Primary
this coming Tuesday and you live in one of the districts below, do NOT
do so! Instead, and this is critical, vote in the Republican primary
for the VCDL endorsed candidate:

Delegate District 23 (Lynchburg Area) - Republican Primary VCDL
Endorses Jeff S. Helgeson. Jeff has been a strong supporter
throughout his tenure as a Council Member in the City of Lynchburg.

Delegate District 55 (Hanover County) - Republican Primary VCDL
Endorses R. E. ''Rusty'' McGuire. Rusty is a strong supporter of your
rights and proudly added to his survey his strong support of Gun Owners.

Also, we have learned that some of you are getting "robo" calls asking
that you vote in the Democratic Primary and the call is referring to
VCDL.

Those robo calls are NOT coming from VCDL nor the VCDL-PAC!

If any of you have that call recorded on your answering machine, VCDL
would very much like to hear the exact message. Please send Philip an
email at: president@vcdl.org if you have a copy of it he could hear.

Sincerely,

Kenneth M. Elliott, Jr.

Subject: VA-ALERT: VCDL PAC Endorsements For Tuesday June 9 Primary

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Primary Election Day is in just four days, on Tuesday, June 9, 2009.

VCDL-PAC has endorsed the following superb Pro Self Defense Candidates
in Tuesday's Primary Election for the House of Delegates.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2009, be sure to GO TO THE POLLS AND VOTE! It is
essential to show your support for dedicated pro-gun candidate!!!

These candidates have answered the VCDL Survey 100% and have been
strong supporters of your rights. Most of those running against the
endorsed candidates failed to return the VCDL Survey and are
attempting to hide their desire to take away your rights. It is vital
that these candidates be elected to represent their parties in the
November General Election. You should not only go to the polls and
vote for these candidates, but encourage your neighbors, family and
friends to vote for them also.

***Voter turnout will be LOW and it is CRITICAL to get as many pro-gun
voters to the polls as possible.***

Delegate District 11 - Democratic Primary VCDL Endorses Del. Onzlee
Ware. Onzlee has been a strong supporter of your rights in the
Virginia Legislature.

Delegate District 23 - Republican Primary VCDL Endorses Jeff S.
Helgeson. Jeff has been a strong supporter throughout his tenure as a
Council Member in the City of Lynchburg.

Delegate District 25 - Democrat Primary VCDL Endorses James G. Noel.
James answered the VCDL Survey supporting your right to self defense
while his OPPONENT, unbelievably, was PROUD to tell us in his survey
that he did NOT SUPPORT GUN OWNERS.

Delegate District 55 - Republican Primary VCDL Endorses R. E.
''Rusty'' McGuire. Rusty is a strong supporter of your rights and
proudly added to his survey his strong support of gun owners.

Delegate District 90 - Democrat Primary VCDL Endorses Lionell Spruill,
Jr.. Lionell answered the VCDL Survey 100% while his opponent, the
current Delegate, refused to answer.

Sincerely,
