The fundamental problem with people who are opposed to Americans owning and carrying arms is this. They believe that if there isn't a gun present, then no one will be killed. What they purposely ignore is the fact that if there were severe restrictions on guns, a lot fewer good people would be without a means of protection, but the BGs would continue to have firepower at their disposal.

The anti's have this mindset that if highly restrictive guns laws were passed than in short order, all guns would dry up. What they believe is something else. they do like guns and they don't want to own them. But it's not enough that they don't like them and don't want them.. they don't want us to have them either. They have no problem infringing upon our rights with their ideas and misguided concepts of what a proper and safe society should be. And they are perfectly willing to have people continue to suffer and die on their alter of anti-gun/gun-free communities.

Yes, like no one was ever killed before the invention of firearms; all that stuff about swords, knives, spears, clubs, bows and arrows, and rocks is just NRA propaganda....

The vast majority of gun violence as they call it happens in a very small number of areas, and primarily in areas with more restrictive than average gun laws. The whole thing is ridiculous. I live in an area where nearly every adult male I know has a firearm yet we have very little firearm violence (but a growing number of use of firearm for self-defense cases).

People who believe that are just the usefull idiots. The people who push this know where they are going. They know that the gun laws don't make a dent on crime and are slightly detrimental to fighting crime.

They want the population disarmed so that they can come down on opposition to the government more easily.

Oh, but gun laws do make a dent on crime. The more relaxed the gun laws, the less crime there is. Just take a look at what happened in Florida after it passed "shall issue".

We are not alone. We are legion. From freerepublic.com:

"Thanks for all of your support. This is the sort of result that drives the anti-freedom types crazy and gains respect among the politicians.
An internet poll is not scientific, but it does measure political intensity, that quality of numbers times importance, or drive.
Here you have a poll rigged from the start with anti-freedom premises, bias, and assumptions, yet the intensity measure comes out as nine to one against the proposal, and for freedom.
Thank you all. The poll is now at 90% yes! "
