I never been escorted out, in fact the guy behind the counter ask if he could use my gun to take care of some kids that were breaking stuff (joking of course;))

which walmart were you at could also determine on the policy LOL... i think the walmart on austin peay is more likely to have that policy than lets say the ones on 64 or G'Town Parkway

I tried to buy some ammo late one night and the teller said they don't sell ammunition after 10pm. I work second shift and was stopping to get some 30-06 ammo for a early morning hunt. I ended up using another gun.

Anyone heard of this? I've looked into it but can't find anything saying this. I may go during the day and ask the manager.

The last time I bought ammo at Wally World it was paid for at the sporting goods register. Once paid for, I was free to wander around the rest of the store.

In TN, you MUST pay for it at sporting goods counter.
It's not this way everywhere?

Yes, have heard this before, though I've never tried to buy any after 10 myself.

Certainly, the ones that sell guns cut off gun sales at 9-10 pm depending on time zone, since TICS closes at 10pm central time, so maybe the ammo sales get lumped into the policy or something.

Correction, in TN you do not have to purchase ammo at the sporting goods register. Just last week in Fayetteville, TN, they handed me a box of 45 JHP, I continued shopping and paid for said ammo the the main registers.

Far out.
That's a no go in Knoxville.
