I was there for about 2 hours with my kids on Saturday, no problems at all. I was wearing I black shirt, therefore my holster didn't really stand out. I did see quite a few GRPD just walking around. No one even mentioned it.

That's a good sign. GR did have an ordinance against carrying weapons. Not sure if they corrected their ways.

Even if they still have an ordinance against open carry it's not enforceable. That pesky 1990 preemption law and all.

Understood. The ordinance just gives them a reason to get the bad gun off the street, even if it is temporary.

I don't know of this happening to an OCer in the GR area. Do you?

Not in Grand Rapids for just OCing. But there is the "PD Lobby" issue and I believe someone had an incident in Kent County (Sparta) when "The Moving Wall" came through. As I can't remember if I learned of it in a pm or in reading a post, I won't divulge anything more.
