Just my thoughts this morning about what can happen to me because I carry all over the country, quite often OPEN...
Police across the county tend to shoot anyone first who is carrying a gun, and ask later. In NYC, a NYPD officer was shot and killed because he was was carrying a gun. Because he was a NYPD officer, the fact he was shot is being questioned. Why are police officers allowed to shoot and kill someone just because they have a weapon, or even IF they have a weapon. Where in any law is anyone, a police officer, a citizen, anyone allowed to shoot and kill for possession of a weapon.
Imagine if armed citizens were shooting police officers left and right for possession of weapons while off duty? Could a citizen get away with the excuse “He has a gun in his belt, he made a sudden movement towards it, I thought he was going to shoot me?” All citizens would automatically go to jail.
At least 81 times in the past six years, officers in Central Florida have shot or shot at suspects, killing 37 of them. More than 40 percent of shootings by Central Florida police involved suspects who were unarmed, and officers in those cases were almost always cleared by prosecutors and internal investigators. Though equal numbers of black and white suspects were shot, black suspects were twice as likely to be unarmed.[/b]
One reason to OPEN CARRY is not only to protect yourself, but others. The more you open carry, the more the police and general public undersdtands that there are good guys with guns... less likely I will get shot, less likely you will get shot...
How do the "40 percent of shooting by Central Florida police involved suspects who were unarmed" fit into the satire?Obviously the title is satirical in nature, and I'm point out that I open carry, and know I risk being shot.:cuss:
Well then I guess it's too bad Ryan Frederick didn't live in Fairfax. There was a case some years back (not all that many) in Fairfax, Virginia where a homeowner opened fire on county police who violently entered his home... unannounced. He was acquited, the police were chastised, and the homeowner was lectured by the judge. Seems his honor didn't like the idea of citizens firing on police even in dire circumstances.

If I am on any watch lists, I sure hope it has to do with tacos. Did you know they taste better when eaten while wearing a tinfoil hat?
Also, are you saying that the "40 percent of shooting by Central Florida police involved suspects who were unarmed" shouldn't have been shot? Why not?
