I currently live in Denver..and on the border. I mean seriously, I walk 5 minutes up the street and I'm in Aurora..Sucks as I used to OC up in Westminster,Broomfield, Thornton, Erie area all the time when I lived up there last year.

But I am traveling a lot this summer for work, and I'll be on Federal Property through-out the state so I'm not worried about OC in those areas in the mountains. But I'll be going to Alamosa area for camping for the 4th of July. How "chill" are the people in that area? The Police? I'm currently seeking a career as a Police Officer so last thing I need on my background is something including firearm. However I want to OC as conceal carry with just a t-shirt could be hard, or even shirtless (yes I take my gun in the water).

Thanks,

Adamm

I have carrid only a couple of times in Alamosa, (wal-mart) and didn't have any problems, but I do not live there either. I would think the they would be fine with it, (except for those ignorant people you always find) and I also have a friend who is down there much more often who OC's. keep asking around, but as for me, I would if I were in town. (I'm also going into LE, so I understand your fears of ANYTHING firearms related on your record.)

What kind of "after care" do you give your gun after being in the water?

CJ30, Thanks for the imput! I'm not going to be in the true Alamosa area, more so the surrounding area, camping wise. More so protection against animals than humans.

As far as after water care, just a good wipe down. I oil my guns every two weeks or so. My carry is a XD40 duo-tone. Mostly plastic, and stainless so I have no rust issues.
