Vigilante justice’ nets 3 years in jail
LITCHFIELD Connecticut; Torrington resident Louis E. McBurney thought he was helping an older woman who was cut off at the McDonald’s drive-thru. But his version of vigilante justice led to a three and a half year jail sentence.
Judge James Ginocchio ordered McBurney, 50, to serve the jail sentence for the crimes of second-degree threatening, carrying a pistol without a permit, carrying a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and criminal possession of a weapon.
