Federal Program Distributes Grenade Launchers to Mass Police

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Like other law enforcers, West Springfield officers carry the usual handguns, handcuffs, pepper spray and ammunition.

Unlike most police departments, this particular police force is also equipped with 2 grenade launchers, 4 M-14 semi-automatic rifles and one M-21 sniper rifle.

According to the Boston Globe, West Springfield is one of 82 Massachusetts police departments that have obtained military surplus weapons over the last 15 years as part of a federal program.

West Springfield Police Chief Thomas Burke told 22News, the grenade launchers can be used to fire tear gas in the event of a riot or a standoff.

I wonder what civilian use there could possibly be for a grenade launcher in the peoples republik of Massachusetts? Need to inflict that much damage often do they?

The more "militarized" the popo get the worse it will be when SWAT comes a calling. "well we had the gear, we figured why waste it.. sorry we took down the entire block but think of the children!!!"

You'd think they'd have tried to scam some neater looking uniforms for the staties.

The West Springfield PD is one that I will vouch for. The Chief is Very Pro-Gun, His Firearms Instructors are Pro-Gun. This Dept. is very proactive when it comes getting resources. As far as the 40mm Grenade Launchers, There is a varity of munitions available. CS (tear gas), rubber shot, and I believe bean bag.As far as Training goes this one of the few town PD's that has its own range and a Shoot house for training.

W.Springfield has several events in its town every year, that draws massive crowds. The largest of course is The Eastern States Exposition. (The Big E) So having and training with this equipment is important. and they do. And we all hope that it never get used in crisis.

That would have been my guess. Most police departments have grenade launchers to launch tear gas grenades. How else would you launch them?

No problem. If the SHTF and government goes on a gun confiscation/tyranny kick, its mucheasier for armed citizens to steal them from police barracks than from an army post.

I've decided I don't mind the militarization of our police as much as I used to.

Lots of people were buying up ARs and so forth. Why worry? If the 2nd Amendment is really needed for its original purpose, there is an even chance that police car over at the donut shop will have one in the trunk.

The government is basically just putting military hardware much more within reach.

I'll make you an offer: I will argue and fight for all of your rights, if you will do the same for me. That is the only way freedom can work. We have to respect all rights, all the time--and strive to win the rights of the other guy as much as for ourselves.

If I am equal to another, how can I legitimately govern him without his express individual consent?

There is no human being on earth I hate so much I would actually vote to inflict government upon him.

That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the article - more battle field booty.

But the problem here is that many dangerous criminals will likely be wacking the cops for theirguns and gear (also). And further that post-TEOTWAWKI many cops will jump ship and become some of the worst crminals out there. Many copshave their bigshot Masonic brotherhood, above-the-law, steroid drivenattitude. When their prozac ain't there and the stores have been looted, those grenade launchers will be in the worst of hands - the rouge cops gone renegade.

Check out these words from Michael Badnarik:

"The Founding Fathers knew about government oppression first-hand. They had already experienced the irksome and capricious laws conceptualized by King George III and enforced by his aggressive army and navy. They understood at a visceral level why men must join together to overthrow tyranny. The Declaration of Independence states that, “When a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” The only way to “throw off ” a government that has grown tyrannical is by killing, or credibly threatening to kill, the people who are violating your rights, and by extrapolation threatening your life. THAT is why the Second Amendment was written! It has nothing whatsoever to do with hunting. It really has very little to do with defending yourself from common street thugs. It has everything to do with forcing our public servants to respect the Constitution they so eagerly and superficially swear an oath to protect. To put it more bluntly, the Second Amendment is our “emergecy cut-off switch” for a government run amok.

Patrick Henry said, “Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect anyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it except downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined.”

Thomas Jefferson said, “The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”

I don’t know about you, but I stand on principle with Henry and Jefferson. The Second Amendment means that we are justified in using deadly force to resist slavery. I refuse to be a slave to anybody. That’s how much I love my Liberty, and that’s why I will never voluntarily relinquish my guns.

So? What’s the problem? Why is there so much controversy surrounding the Second Amendment? I think John Wayne explains it best during his portrayal of a dying gunslinger in The Shootist. He says, “It isn’t always being fast, or even accurate, that counts. It’s being willing. I found out early, that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren’t willing. They blink an eye, or draw a breath, before they pull the trigger. I won’t.”

Most Americans are fully aware of the threats to our Liberty. I think the problem with most Americans is that they don’t have the courage to do what it takes to protect their Liberty.
I certainly hope I’m wrong. Of course, only time will tell." (end of Michael Badnarik quote)

    You belong to "The Craft"?

Is that the same satanic cult that Manly P. Hall referred to when he wrote the following?

"When the Mason learns that the key to the warrior on the block is the proper application of the dynamo of living power, he has learned the mystery of his Craft. The seething energies of Lucifer are in his hands, and before he may step onward and upward, he must prove his ability to properly apply energy." [Manly P. Hall, The Lost Keys of Freemasonry, p. 48]

You need to take your misguided prejudice else where. As you know nothing of Freemasonry. Which is dedicated to community service and helping one another. I feel sorry for you.

Sir, you are the one who brought the topic of "The Craft" to this open carry forum, not me.

Over the years we've ALLwatched our Bill of Rights progressivelyerroded, and it is obvious that an emerging police state here in America (and globally) has progressed to the point where it is a MAJOR threat to not only our freedoms but also our very survival.

In fact, open carry is nowonly allowed in something like 28 states. And now this putz imposteroccupying the White House (a Prince Hall Mason) stated that his new immigration reform plan includes biometric eye scans at DHS checkpoints to identify illegal aliens. When the roadblocks start its almost time to start swining the muskets again.

If an Americanfreedom fighter wants to defend his God-given rights, it is imperative that he/sheknow exactly who the enemy is.Preparing to resist the wrong enemy and/or not understandingtheir enemy could be fatal to the future of our Republic.

Ifone takes the time to thoroughly research the history of America, and especially does a detailed study of the numerous unfolding world events, which are part of a sweeping movement that is collectively being called , by the Freemasons themselves, the “New World Order”.

And further, the only acceptable conclusionthatan intelligent, unbiased person can come to is that America’s constitutional republic is already extinct and many of our elected officials are merely puppets masquerading as such for a corporate fascist shadow government, where high-level Freemasons, members of many other secret societies, and political organizations are aggressively trying to destroy America’s sovereignty, and bring about a single world government, a single world economic system, and a single world religion.

Exactly who are these "enemy" secret societies and political organizations, you might ask?

The major players in this conspiracy are the Freemasons, the Illuminati, the Theosophical Society, the Federal Reserve, the Council on Foreign Relations, the United Nations, the Bilderberger Group, the Trilateral Commission, and dozens of other organizations that can be considered lesser players such as the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the European Community, the North American Union, etc. And yes, contrary to your accusation, I have studied all these groups, especially the Freemasons. I must have over 100 books on the Masons alone, including much of their own books and literature .

Let's let some of these traitor Mason's words speak for themselves:

David Rockefeller, a Mason, was quoted in the August 10th, 1973 issue of the “New York Times”, as having said, “Whatever the price of the Chinese Revolution, it has
obviously succeeded not only in producing more efficient and dedicated administration, but also in fostering high morale and community of purpose. The
social experiment in China under Chairman Mao’s leadership is one of the most important and successful in human history.”

Please remember that many tens of millions of people were murdered under Chairman Mao Zedong’s rule. He is considered by most historians as one of the most
    brutal dictators of all time.

On December 18th, 2000, CNN reported that George W. Bush, a Mason, said, “If this were a dictatorship, it’d be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I’m the dictator.”

Sarah Brady (not a Mason) was quoted in “The National Educator”, page 3, in January 1994, as having said, “Our task of creating a socialist America can only
succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed.”

So, apparently, accordingly to Sarah Brady herself, HCI’s goal of outlawing guns has nothing to do with decreasing crime, but instead, has everything to do with preventing armed resistance to the New World Order, what she called “socialist America.”

Are you starting to understand how Illuminized Freemasonry and their New World Order is a threat, NO its THEmajor threat to firearm freedom?

Brady’s comment reminds me of Adolf Hitler’s famous remark (in 1936) about civilian disarmament, who said, “For the first time in history, a nation has true gun
control and its citizens are disarmed.” And yes, Hitler was a Mason also.

President Bill Clinton, also a Mason, on March 22nd, 1994, on MTV’s “Enough is Enough”, said, “When we got organized as a country, and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom
to Americans… and so a lot of people say there’s too much personal freedom. When personal freedom’s being abused, you have to move to limit it. That’s what we did in the announcement I made last weekend on the public housing projects, about how we’re going to have weapon sweeps and more things like that to try to make
    people safer in their communities.”

And, yeah, most of the skin-headed thug cops are Masons, along with Judges, attorneys, prosecutors, bankers, and minions of theMasonic conspiracy.

I agree, that this thread was hijacked. Yet I will not sit back and let some one take cheap shots at Freemasons. I will not go on any further with this.

    marshaul and old dog,

Your references to conspiracy theorists and mental illness is extremely naïve. I can’t believe some people take the treats to our 2A so passively that you outright reject the notion of a U.S. shadow government coup as being groundless, apparently without ever having researched the issue first.

To do so you have to completely ignore the fact that the plan for a New World Orderisn't a secret conspiracy at all. In fact, certain organizations (such as the UN, CFR and the Trilateral Commission) andmany politicians alike have been and continue to be very open about their plans for world governance, which includes the elimination of all personal firearms. To call these schemes a “conspiracy” is almost a misnomer, because much of what they do is conducted in broad daylight.

For example, for decades the UN has waged a campaign to undermine and eventually eliminate 2A rights in America. Their agenda is openly displayed in their huge anti-gun statue right in front of their headquarters on American soil. The statue depicts a pistol with the barrel tied into a knot, a not-too-subtle message aimed squarely at our Bill of Rights.

The UN claims to serve human freedom and dignity, but gun control historically has served as a gateway to tyranny. Tyrants from Hitler to Mao to Stalin have sought to disarm their own citizens, for the simple reason that unarmed people are easier to control. Our Founders, having just expelled the British army, knew that the right to bear arms serves as the guardian of every other right. This is the principle so often ignored by both sides in the gun control debate. Only armed citizens can resist tyrannical government.

Another example of their openness is the fact that many books have been published by theglobal elite that lay out their plans in no uncertain terms. For example, perhaps the most notable insider who has written many books about their plans is none other than Zbigniew Brzezenski, a Freemason, the National Security Advisor to President Carter, CFRmember, and first Director of the Trilateral Commission. His books, “The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and Its Geostrategic Imperatives” and “Between Two Ages: America's Role in the Technetronic Era” spell out their plans in such great detail it is absolutely stunning.

"Soon it will be possible to assert almost continuous surveillance over every citizen and maintain up-to-date complete files containing even the most important information about the citizen. These files will be subject to instantaneous retrieval by the authorities." (Brzezinski, Between Two Ages)

Anotherthere are many other similar stunning publications such as “The Earth Charter” by Maurice Strong, the Canadian Industrialist Freemason billionaire, “Tragedy and Hope,” by Dr. Carroll Quigley, “Genesis: Shaping a Global Spirituality,” by notable globalist Robert Mueller’s , former Director of the FBI and Freemason,“The Lost Keys of Freemasonry” by Manly P. Hall, “The Book of Co-Creation” by Barbara Marx Hubbard, and Helena Petrovna Blavatsky’s, “The Secret Doctrine.”

And I must mention the book, The Secret Destiny of America, written by the master Illuminist Manly P. Hall, former head of the Scottish Rite Masons in America.

Writing in 1944, Hall showed that there is a secret plan from hundreds, even thousands, of years ago, that America will lead the world in fulfilling the "Great Plan" of a global utopia ruled by Lucifer.

Listen to the words of Hall from “The Secret Destiny of America”,

“There exists in the world today, and has existed for thousands of years, a body of enlightened humans united in what might be termed, an Order of the Quest. It is composed of those whose intellectual and spiritual perceptions have revealed to them that civilization has secret destiny...

The outcome of this 'secret destiny' is a World Order ruled by a King with supernatural powers.

This King was descended of a divine race; that is, he belonged to the Order of the Illumined for those who come to a state of wisdom then belong to a family of heroes-perfected human beings.”

Obama, in his inaugural speech, actually used some of the exact language that Hall used in his book regarding civilization’s secret destiny. Basically Obama’s speech was a coded message by Illuminati elite. This is not a theory. Anyone with the intelligence, incentive, and time can compare the text and demonstrate the striking similarities between the two.

It is NOT a theory that one of the primary groups of Freemasons which is driving the common herd towards world government is the Council on Foreign Relations. The CFR's agenda is the elimination of America's borders, sovereignty and democracy. If they have their way, there will be one world government. No more U.S. Constitution. No more Bill of Rights or 2A.

It is no theory that the CFR has voraciously demanded world government openly in their journal, “Foreign Affairs,” for decades. This highly respected publication is carried by every major library in America.

For example, CFR member and Freemason Richard Gardner, wrote in the April 1974 issue, "The New World Order will have to be built from the bottom up rather than from the top down... but in the end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece will accomplish much more than the old fashioned frontal assault." And in February 1950, James Warburg, a Freemason, testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He said, “We shall have world government whether or not you like it – by conquest or consent.”

The CFR couldn’t contain its glee over the tragic World Trade Center attack, when, on September 14th, 2001, Gary Hart, a Freemason, the Co-Chairman of the U.S. Commission on National Security in the 21st Century, at a CFR meeting broadcast on C-Span, said, “There is a chance for the president of the United States to use this disaster to carry out what his father – a phrase his father used only once, and it hasn’t been used since – and that is a New World Order.”

Even though Hart pathetically claimed that Bush used the phrase only once (he actually used it in public address 210 times), the CFR is actually admitting here that this crisis was helping bring in their New World Order.

And in May 2009, while on a trip to Central America, CFR member and Prince Hall Freemason Barack Obama signed onto an international treaty that could, in effect, be used as backdoor gun control. It appears that Obama wants to use international treaties to do what congressional legislation is not able to do: further restrict the right of the American people to keep and bear arms.

Obama is using the oft-disproved contention that “90% of the guns recovered in Mexico come from the United States” as the stated basis of his support for the international treaty he is promoting. The treaty is formally known as the Inter-American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Other Related Materials (CIFTA) treaty. The Clinton administration signed the treaty back in 1997, but the U.S. Senate has never ratified the treaty. Obama intends to change that.

To date, 33 nations in the western hemisphere have signed the treaty. The U.S. is one of four nations that have yet to ratify it. According to one senior Obama administration official, passing the treaty is a “high priority” for President Obama

If ratified, the treaty would require the United States to adopt “strict licensing requirements, mark firearms when they are made and imported to make them easier to trace, and establish a process for sharing information between national law enforcement agencies investigating [gun] smuggling.”

Senator John Kerry, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee promises to “work for its [the CIFTA treaty’s] approval by the Senate.”

Should the Senate ratify CIFTA, Americans who reload ammunition would be required to get a license from the government, and factory guns and ammunition would be priced almost out of existence due to governmental requirements to “mark” each one manufactured. Even the simple act of adding an after-market piece of equipment to a firearm, such as a scope or bipod, or reassembling a gun after cleaning it could fall into the category of “illicit manufacturing” of firearms and require government license and oversight.

In addition, CIFTA would authorize the U.S. federal government (and open the door to international entities) to supervise and regulate virtually the entire American firearms industry. Making matters worse is the fact that, as a treaty, this Act does not have to be passed by both houses of Congress, nor is it subject to judicial oversight. All Obama needs to do in order to enact this unconstitutional and egregious form of gun control is convince a Democratic-controlled Senate to pass it.

Obviously, the UN, from its very inception, has been one of the world’s most ardent gun control proponents. The CIFTA treaty is one of the U.N.’s pet projects in order to achieve this long-held ambition.

And the CFR’s anti-gun policy making is evident in the most recent issue of their journal, the July/August 2009 “Foreign Affairs” journal includes the article "The Real War in Mexico: How Democracy Can Defeat the Drug Cartels" by Shannon O'Neill.

    This excerpt is relevant:

“To start, the United States needs to take a hard look at its own role in the escalating violence and instability in Mexico. This means enforcing its own laws - and rethinking its own priorities. When it comes to the gun trade, U.S. law prohibits the sale of weapons to foreign nationals or "straw buyers," who use their clean criminal records to buy arms for others. It also forbids the unlicensed export of guns to Mexico. Nevertheless, over 90 percent of the guns seized in Mexico and traced are found to have come from the United States. These include not just pistols but also cartel favorites such as AR-15s and AK-47-style semiautomatic rifles. To stop this "iron river" of guns, Washington must inspect traffic on the border going south--not just north--and increase the resources for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. (Even with recent additional deployments, a mere 250 ATF officers and inspectors cover the 2,000 mile border,) This effort should also include a broader program of outreach and education, encouraging responsible sales at gun shops and shows and deterring potential straw buyers with more explicit warnings of the punishment they would face if caught. Reducing the tools of violence in Mexico is a first step in addressing U.S. responsibility.”

Realize that the CFR’s membership reads like a who’s who of important people in the world. Throughout the years many extremely prominent people have served as directors of the CFR. A few of the CFR’s luminaries are as follows: Cyrus Vance, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Paul Voelker, George H.W. Bush, Henry Kissinger, George Schultz, Alan Greenspan, Brent Scowcroft, Colin Powell, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Richard Cheney. ALL of these men are high-level Masons. And above all these big names, is the super mega-banker, David Rockefeller, the man who is basically in control of the CFR. Both the Rockefellers and the Rothchilds of London are deeply involved in Freemasonry and Luciferian worship.

Since 1940, every U.S. Secretary of State (except for Gov. James Byrnes of South Carolina, the sole exception) has been a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and/or its younger sibling, the Trilateral Commission. All are Freemasons. Also since 1940, every Secretary of War and every Secretary of Defense has been a CFR member, and a Freemason. During most of its existence, the CIA has been headed by Freemason CFR members. Virtually every key U.S. National Security and Foreign Policy Adviser has been a Freemasonic CFR member for the past seventy years.

Almost all White House cabinet positions are occupied by Freemasonic CFR members. President Clinton, a Mason himself, as a member of the CFR, the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderberg Group, employed almost one hundred CFR members in his administration. And yes, Barak Obama answers directly to the CFR. In other words, the Presidents come and go, but the Freemason’s power - and agenda – via the CFR - always remains.

If you gentlemen would take the time to research the Freemasons own publications, you might realize that the conspiracy fanatics just might not be as crazy as certain people would like to think they are.

I do, however, fully realize that many people will stick their head up their crack and ignore the overwhelming evidence supporting the fact that there is a grand Masonic conspiracy which includes outlawing all firearms in the serf’s hands.

I can’t believe I used to say, “What you don’t know can’t hurt you.” I’m now convinced that if “what we don’t know” is the truth our ignorance WILL be EXTREMELY costly. In other words, sometimes the truth hurts; however not knowing the truth hurts even worse, because our adversary of firearm freedom, the Freemasonic shadow government and the New World Order, takes advantage of our ignorance.

Did you know that truth is not altered by our ignorance of it or changed one iota by our denial or rejection of it? Truth needs no defense, and the unresearched opinions of man cannot alter it.

Don’t be afraid of the truth; it is only a lie that can hurt you.

Augustin is of course quite right about the U.N. and other globalist sociopolitical entities and we must all be alert.

However, we must also recognize that not every facet of an enemy's life is relevant to the issue. Most of them are probably at least nominally Christian but this doesn't make Christianity part of the anti-American movement.

And don't forget that the men who created our nation were largely Freemasons. They could hardly be said to be part of any iniquitous cabal.

Remember, the impulse to destroy our country springs from the fact that our freedoms, especially the First and Second amendments, are a rebuke to the globalists. People can point to us and tell their leaders "see, your obsessive repression is not the only way".
