According to the report at the hyperlink address below, the BATFE seems to be trying to bypass the 4th Amendment by using scare tactics in a manner that makes them sound, to me, more and more like Hitler's SS. Anyone else view it that way?

In Border States, BATFE Asks: "May We See Your Guns?"

As far as I'm concerned, the ATF has been a malignancy for as long as I've been aware of it. Sometime in 1993 I believe.

I have to wonder if the EPA will start kicking in doors and shooting people for mixing paper and plastic.

The ATF has no reason to exist and should be disbanded. It exists only to regulate that which should not be regulated.

Wow, the fine folks at ATF have sure earned a great reputation amongst Americans. Way to go guys!

Maybe you'll earn a congressional investigation once freedom loving Americans get into office, and kick the tyrants out on their :cuss:?

Not if you know your rights. As the Press Release points out:

"Answering questions in this type of investigation is generally an individual choice. Most importantly, there are only a few relatively rare exceptions to the general Fourth Amendment requirement that law enforcement officials need a warrant to enter a home without the residents' consent. There is nothing wrong with politely, but firmly, asserting your rights."

To which I would respectfully reply "Do you have a warrant?"

When is some group going to start suing the Federal government over these illegal agencies like the BATFE and FBI??? There is nothing even remotely making either one of these abominations constitutionally justifiable, yet no one will take them on. It's no use suing the FBI or the BATFE, but rather we must take on the Federal government that has trampled on the Constitution in making these bureaucracies.

It gets tiring to be playing the game by their rules because as we've now seen with the GM andChrysler bond holders... they'll change the rules tofit their agenda. The Federal government has now proved that they are no longer trustworthy for any duty and are derelictand dangerously unconstitutional.

Agreed, but there are many out there who would rather give in then stand their ground. Also, by no means is this really an indictment against the entire agency, more likely an overzealous regional supervisor.

He asked someone above him to OK it... Or was ordered to. Etiehr way, it's not as if 'some guy' is just off doing his own thing. That's not how the ATF operates.

No, they will start kicking in doors and shooting people for exhaling once they get CO2 declared a pollutant in the name of that great hoax man-made gorebal warming.

It's all about control.
