I am nothing short of astounded at this information! Do you mean to tell me that out of the reported >1,000,000 people on that list, less than 0.1% have purchased a firearm?

Anybody wanta bet this is the opening shot in a campaign to gin up public support to deny firearm purchases to anyone on the no-fly list?

"(Gasp!) More than 800 people on the watch list were able to buy guns!?! My god! Why are we letting terrorists buy guns!?!"

Even more frightening when you consider that it take very little to get on that list. A friend of mine got on it a few years back for doing no more than making a bunch of short trips in a short amount of time and (the cynic in the both of us suspects), looking a bit "middle eastern". I guess visiting a bunch of friends and family during your short vacation (and possibly being dark skinned with dark hair) is suspicious.

I'm on the list. I'm white, and haven't flown for over a decade.

But I also send letters to alphabet soup agencies that include phrases like "vote from the rooftops" and "after the first one, the rest are free." ;-) Maybe that's why....

Okay so call me stupid, but how can I find out if I'm on this "no fly" list?
And of course this piece of literary talent comes from the Most Socialist News !! MSNBC. Mother of Pearl, I wonder if they even researched it. More than likely they just threw the numbers out there and figured nobody could count.

I found out by going to the airport... The JBTs come find you when their face recognition stuff notices you walking around.

I didn't have a ticket, and I wasn't buying one, so... "Am I free to go?"

Okay, I see. I applied for and was granted a TWIC card which allows access into the ports for truck drivers. When I was at the application place I saw any number of folks that were,,well let's just say recent immigrants? Don't know how in depth the security background investigation is, but I know I was cleared TS/SBI/SCI in the Army by the FBI and Army Security Agency? so, maybe ??

Search for H.R.2159 here:

Evidently the esteemed Senator Lautenberg is gearing up to introduce the Senate version.
