There are MANY "Tea Parties" going on this 4th of July. These Tea Parties would be a great venue to exercise your 2A rights, and let other like minded people know it is their right too! Here is the link to look up events in your area:

You do mean Independence Day. Even statists celebrate the Fourth of July - right along with Cinco de Mayo.

If you don't understand what a Tea Party is vs an Independence Day celebration with fireworks there is not point in my trying to explain it to you. I think the link is clear what it is all about.

We have a newly formed org named "Northwoods Patriots" that is hosting a "Tea Party" event in Eagle River WI.
I just spoke to the organizer and invited her to join the WI thread. I eagerly await her postings.

Independence Day is a great OC opportunity in most places. As for tea parties, they are just the Republican Right giving vent to their impulse to say "no" to everything, without doing so underan unpopular GOP banner.

The symbolism of the Gasden flag belongs to all of us.Weall should celebrate our revolutionary heritage together on the 4th, not segregate ourselves into little partisan pockets.

Hmmm... I don't recall any requirement to be a "Republican" to be involved in these Tea Parties. Even in stealth mode. I think it is open to anyone that feels the gov't is going too far in any direction.

"Are you fed up with a Congress and a president who:

    • vote for a $500 billion tax bill without even reading it?
    • are spending trillions of borrowed dollars, leaving a debt our great-grandchildren will be paying?
    • consistently give special interest groups billions of dollars in earmarks to help get themselves re-elected?
    • want to take your wealth and redistribute it to others?
    • punish those who practice responsible financial behavior and reward those who do not?
    • admit to using the financial hurt of millions as an opportunity to push their political agenda?
    • run up trillions of dollars of debt and then sell that debt to countries such as China?
    • want government controlled health care?
    • want to take away the right to vote with a secret ballot in union elections?
    • refuse to stop the flow of millions of illegal immigrants into our country?
    • appoint a defender of child pornography to the Number 2 position in the Justice Department?
    • want to force doctors and other medical workers to perform abortions against their will?
    • want to impose a carbon tax on your electricity, gas and home heating fuels?
    • want to reduce your tax deductibility for charitable gifts?
    • take money from your family budget to pay for their federal budget?

If so, help organize and/or participate in a Taxed Enough Already (TEA) party in your community on July 4."

These characterizations are RNC talking points. Grassroots my a$$boots!

"want to take your wealth and redistribute it to others?"

Someonewho complained about your post must be a REAL leftwinger. Seems to me that that point alone would be something Republican Conservatives would be VERY upset with!

Here's the one that really bothers me: "refuse to stop the flow of millions of illegal immigrants into our country"

Yeah, Donkey, exactly which RNC talking points are inaccurate.

Some of the Dems don't even want some of this stuff, and yeah, we've had a few Republican turncoats, too. Butthe problem is, Obama wants all of this and the majority of the Dems in congress are willing to get it for him.

I'm wondering if they'll be willing to give him an "Enabling Act" when he burst into congress with ACORN in tow, demanding it.

For a few second there Donkey I thought you had woke up and seen what your nObama had done to this country already. But then I read on and saw that you're still asleep and still spouting your Fascist B.S.
He's on TV more than any other President has ever been and always in campaign mode. Still can't answer questions without them being staged without his tele-prompter. And he's slipping way down in the polls.
Even ole Helen "What's her name" is gettin' into his press secretary's knickers and that's unusual for her socialist self.
The time will come when Y'all are gonna take the fall, Donkey. P.T Barnum said it,,, You can fool all of the people some of the time,,,,

Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.’’ Thomas Jefferson

I support our President on most of his initiatives, but disagree with him on guns.

There are many democrats who have similar views.

I would be happy to debate policies elsewhere, but my point here is that we all should be coming together to celebrate independence day.

Tea parties are a GOP attempt to separate themselves from their countrymen and cloak themselves in revolutionary symbolism. I simply refuse to let them takethose symbolsfor themselves without a fight.

As I said previously I don't believe it is a GOP driven item but a mixture of parties.Granted there are probably more Republican and/or Conservatives than liberals but I do believe it is a mixture. I'm sure we can all agree on that.

Independence Day, 4th of July! Hope the alienshaven't landedyet. Hope everyone celebrates our great country and puts aside our slight differences in politics and freely excercises All of our Constitutional Rights! I plan on open carry throughout the weekend. Have a great weekend Donkey, Vermonter, Doug, Compmanio, Nutczak and all the others!

Tea Parties are by and large Libertarian events which republicans have tried to corrupt. Shame on those elephants!

Most republicans don't put up much of an intellectual fight Donkey, they lostmost of their credibilitywhen they adopted liberalism light.

Understand Donkey, as a Libertarian I won't fight for some symbol, but I will fightthe democrat party'swacko ideas about economic collectivism. I will fightto support my Constitutional Republic. Individual freedom and economic freedom -that is worth fighting for.

    democrat party = economic enslavement

democrat party fringe element = economic enslavement, and loss of personal freedoms (but only if the elitist nanny state rulers say it is for our own good, i.e; gun control, suv, cigarettes, etc.

republican party = loss of personal freedoms

Libertarian Party = personal and economic freedom

    +1 Thundar.

I have always detested "party" politics. They look after thier own interests, but I am liking what I am hearing from libertarian parties. Its a party that doesn't promote its party interests because they seem truly interested in our inalienable rights.

The government is never going to have the answers especially ones that supports larger government beauracracies. IF you look at the percentages, the government programs have done nothing but cost us money over the last 100 years, and now they want to add more? Sorry, thats why I am attending the Tea-party, and I will be open carrying.
I am not anti Cop I am just pro Citizen.

    U.S. v. Minker, 350 US 179, at page 187
"Because of what appears to be a lawful command on the surface, many citizens, because
of their respect for what only appears to be a law, are cunningly coerced into waiving their
    rights, due to ignorance." (Paraphrased)

When I attended the April TEA party in Nashville I noticed that their seemed to be a variety of affiliations there. There were Libertarians, Republicans and some Democrats (they seemed to be having buyers remorse). There were various focus groups, there all protesting the same thing - the "insane Tax and Spend" policies of the current Obama Admin and Congress.

The policies comming out of the current Fed government will affect everyone, except those that have given loyal support to the "Chosen One". It almost seems like an Aristocracy isdeveloping in this nation and the peasants (the rest of us)aren't liking what we see coming.

The tea parties are a neocon attempt to usurp the libertarian movement's publicity event.

GOP? Since when did the GOP come up with an original idea like tea parties? No Donkey they are a growing mass of people who are PISSED about his policies. I personally am an independent, and lean more Libertarian than any other direction. Debate policies? Of course you're joking. Since when is it Constitutional for the President to fire a CEO of a corperation, or the takeover of Banks and Auto companies? There is no debate, the bastid is a socialist bent on the destruction of individual freedoms and this country. And truth be known, I will do everything in my power to prevent him and Princess Pelosi and Prince Harry from doing it.
He's quadrupled the National debt in 6 short months. Put my Great Grandchildren (as yet unborn) into a debt they'll never be able to pay, and told more lies than any other politician in the history of this country. Hope you're happy with him, because I'm not.

I gave out about 35 Pennsylvania Gun Rights Fliers.
I don't know how many renegadephoenix gave out.
I carried my PAFOA A2 and renegadephoenix carried his M4 along with our usual sidearms.
