I was reading that you have to get a license to OC in Pa. That's fine, but does an Pa. firearms carry permit cover OC and CCW?

The only reference I saw for CCW was for out of state people to apply to carry concealed while working or traveling in Pa.

Just curious if you have to have two seperate licenses. Thanks.

And does anyone have any first hand knowledge of working at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratories???

No license needed to OC in PA. You do need an LTCF (license to carry firearms) to carry in a vehicle or to carry, either OC or CC, in Philadelphia.

No carry license/permit required when OC'n in PA except in Philly.

Here is a tri-fold that has all the information that you need when coming to PA!

Looks like West Mifflin, PA is in Allegheny County.

In PA, if you are a resident you must apply for a resident license in the county where you reside. Damn shame too, some counties it's walk in andtakes 10 to 20 minutes and $25 to get your resident LTCF. Others, they string you out up to the max 40 some days and charge $45 or more.

Here is the app for Alleghenyfor a PA License To Carry Firearms.

Untill you are a a resident, PA does recognize your KY permit according to the NRA, the Attorney General has the final say at any given time.

When you get here, you'll be in the home of the Kentucky Rifle.

    Pretty much.

There is no LTCF needed to openly carry anywhere in PA except in a "City of the 1st Class" (more than 1 million pop., which is only Philly).

The LTCF is also required to carry a firearm concealed of course anywhere in PA, and is also required to carry openly in (or on) a vehicle.

That's pretty cool! That takes a little of the "if" and "uhm" out of my thoughts about moving.

Yeah, there are afew of the usual things like can't carry in a courthouse sort of things and can't open carry in a state park (can conceal carry in a State Park) and of course there are some tricky ones like if you were carrying on a state game land a WCO (Wildlife Conservation Officer) Ninja might try to accuse you of hunting out of season or without a license. However carry in restraunt and bar is legal, owners can placard against firearms and ask you to leave.

Some localities keep trying to create their own local laws however PA has a preemption law and the NRA jumps all over them.

Be sure to print a copy of the flyer, it's a good one.
