I'd like to hear some of the funny, wild, weird comments that have come your way (or that you have overheard) while OCing. I know some of you guys/gals have some good stories. Let's hear 'em.

The following happened while crossing the street, passing by an older gentleman in the middle of the crosswalk...

Older Guy: Excuse me sir, do you know where the Radio Shack is?

me: No, sorry.

OG: What is that, like a BB gun?

me: No.

OG: What is it?

me: It's a gun.

OG: A real gun??

me: Real gun.

:)

In safeway, overheard conversation (assuming with 911 calltaker).

I noticed a woman following me, trying to be slick but not very.. Just peeking around the edges of the aisle, waiting til I went to the next aisle then coming down the aisle I was just in and peeking around the edge of the aisle at me, repeated for about 4-5 aisles... Then she just stopped in the middle of an aisle (squeaky cart). After about a min or so I could hear her talking...

...Yeah.. he has a gun...

..Brown pants and a plaid shirt..

(I was wearing khaki's, with a casual button up light white chckered shirt)

no.... it's just there...

no.

I did not ask him, it does not look like it..

I didn't see one..

no.

Nothing. It's just there on his belt...

I don't know.

I.... it looks like he's shopping.. he has a basket and some items in it.

about 5 mins...

ok...

ok..

Well, no..

no...

no....

What do you mean? He's GOT A GUN! There's kids walking around?
....

....He can't do that!

...

He can just walk around like that....... and noone can say anything to him?!

___________

LOL...

I had to assume it was a 911 calltaker asking what was going on, how it was carried, etc.... I'd like to give them a cookie for actually asking those questions instead of just dispatching an officer over nothing...

I would have been so hard pressed not to burst out laughing at that point. excellent restraint on your part.

Does "Up against the car and spread um" count?

I couldn't stop laughing at the time. I think that bothered him more than the gun.
He couldn't pat me down because I kept doubling over laughing every time he
touched me. It wasn't my fault I just had to many Rodney King jokes
flowing through my head at the time. D*m criminals always get the innocent
bystanders in trouble.

In the employment security office, female auditing my books.

"Is that a real gun"

Me: "Well I wouldn't walk around with a fake one"

Her: "I am not sure it is legal for you to have that in here"

Me: "Absolutely is"

Her:"OH!!??"

This conversation was a few weeks ago. The thing is she already knew I had guns. When they called for the audit they wanted to come into my house and go through my computers and files. I told them I am Pro 2A and have guns around the house and open carry my pistol. I was then told

"....you can just drop your files off if that would be easier"

This just won't have the same punch without the actual voices, but it's worth a shot:

Mukilteo Albertson's a couple weeks back:

Valley Girl 1 to Valley girl 2 "Tch, like, omigaw, was that like, a gun?"

VG2 to VG1: "Tch like, that's soo scarey"

(Yes I do look rather terrifying in a hawiian shirt 3x too big :quirky)

Yesterday afternoon at Sam's Club in Renton a guy came up to me and asked,

"Is that a tazer or, like, a nine-mil...?"

Me "It's a .45"

Him "Does it have, like, 14 rounds in the clip?"

Me "8"

Him "I thought .45's held ,like, 14 in the clip."

Me "Nope, usually 7 or 8."

Him "Oh."

I had to really restrain myself not to educate him on the difference between a clip and a magazine...

I think you would have been just as successful as if you had explained the details of nuclear fission :)

"boy...what you talking about....DAAAAAAMN IS THAT REAL"

"IS YOU FO REAL?"

"SOMEBODY CALL THE PO POS"

I just got back from Sam's Club in Renton, yes, I was just there last night... I had to return a pair of pants for a different size. My wife and daughter and I were sitting at the tables where you eat the hot dogs and these 3 gals walk past us as they were leaving when we heard one of the girls say, "Oh, I thought that was a real gun."

WOW, like someone would be carrying a fake gun in a holster? ...sheeple... :?

Last year I was waiting for the Jetty Island ferry and older lady ask me if it was a real gun and are you police. I said just a regular guy and yes it is a real gun. She said very good.
I was on the ferry and a state police cadet asked me what agency I was with. I told him I am just a regular guy and a weekend warrior. He said very good.
I get gas at a Safeway gas station and the guy always calls me officer.
The other guy always stares at my gun and always get my phone # wrong and gives me back to much change.
I can go on and on.

I was at a hose supplier in Everett where this person knows mefairly wellbecause of my most previous employer(12 years those ba$+ar#$/idiots).

Him: Why are you carring that cap gun?

Me: It's a dangerous world out there.

Him: Isn't that the truth! Most people I know just leave it in their cars.

Me: Well I hope they never have a time they wish they were carrying it on them.

The rest of the conversation was on pleasentries and supplies needed by myself.

I was open-carrying my full-size pistol on the way into the ice-skating rink to go ice-skating and another OC'er (who chose to conceal at that time) said to me:

"Really, Nate? Really?"

I think that takes the cake. :celebrate

I chose to conceal one day last semester and one of my good buddies said the following as we walked out the door. "Hey, where's your gun? It's like your AmEx you never leave home without it."

Must be all that plastic they are using now....
Except that mine is a full size Kimber Tactical Custom II in a Serpa... Lots of gun-meat sticking out of my holster. The only plastic is the holster.
