Must have been a cheap gun to discharge when dropped.

Since it happened today, and "Saturday Night Specials" are illegalwould that make it a "Friday Night Special":what:

So called "saturday night specials" are not illegal.

ANY gun can discharge when dropped and any number of factors can determine what will make one gun more likely to go off than other, including wear on parts, possibly overly sensitive primer in chambered ammo, how the gun is carried, if a safety is on or off, etc...

Well I'm pretty sure my 1911 would break before it accidentally discharged. This is just another reason why a holster needs to have good retention.

Interesting how the author wrote this
accidentally let her handgun slip out of her waist holster
I'm no English teacher but I don't understand how one accidentally lets something happen seems like that would be purposeful.
