cc vs oc if you have a cpl

I have read alot of back and forth about if you have a cc permit (CPL concealed pistol license) you have to conceal your weapon. I am confused and I am hoping someone can clarify this for me. If you are carrying a sidearm openly and you have a CPL wouldn't it be your choice how you carry it CC or OC.

Everything I have read on your state so far leads me to believe that if you have a CPL then you must CC. I find that to be confusing, any clarification would help...

The reason I am asking is that I will be moving to AZ soon.

Thanks

That's like saying because you have a drivers license, you must always drive to the store instead of walking. Open carry is always an option.

Whomever told you that doesn't know AZ gun laws from a hole in the ground. OC is a constitutional right here. CC is a state priviledge. Obtaining a CWP does not invalidate your right to open carry.

If this person continues to pester you on the issue, have him show you where in the ARS (Arizona Revised Statutes) that is found. That should keep him occupied indefinitely.

The only cpl/ccw restrctions related to OC that I know of is you must have your CCW to carry OC or CC in Tucson City parks. Other than that, carry away

It's a CWP here (Concealed Weapon Permit). Weapons are not limited to firearms either. The permit is to 'conceal'... not carry. Carry is a Right. Rights do not require permission to exercise. The permit only authorizes the mode of carry. Concealedwas not legitimized in Arizona until '94. The state constitution (Sec 2 Art 26) has recognized RTKBA (openly)since before there was an Arizona.Basically... the only thing needed to OC in AZ is to be within theborders of the state 'n not be a felon or otherwise prohibited person.

With a CWP... youmay carry concealed... but there's none of that 'printing' nonsense as practiced in many of these petty tyrannies that pass for police departments at the behest of their socialist state and municipal political masters. It doesn't matter if it's partially concealed just walkin' around or not Those businesses 'n suchwhere it must be concealed (property owners) it's best to cover it up... but if it's 'peekin' for some reason... it's not a big deal. Nobody gets excited much.... 'cept the Kommiefornia transplants 'n some of those yankees from back east... like Joisy or NuYawk.
