I was told by a buddy of mine that there was a bill in the works that would tax every firearm that you own. He said that you would be taxed 50 dollars per gun. So i was just wondering if anybody has heard of this, and could help me find this bill. Because he really didn't say if it was state or federal.

I have been watching this one and as far as I can tell it is completely false!

    Snopes also agrees http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/taxreturns.asp
Anything I post may be my opinion and not the law... you are responsible to do your own verification.

Blackstone (1753-1765) maintains that "the law holds that it is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer."

The right to bear arms shall not be infringed... by taxes.
