OC at Clinics and Hospitals?

Just wondering if you can open carry at clinics and hospitals. In the La Crosse area, the 2 main ones are Franciscan Skemp (Mayo) and Gunderson Luthern.

Pretty sure the answer is yes, and has anybody done it before?

Not sure if I would carry during my own appointment, as normally you get weighed and it'd add extra weight so you'd probably have to remove it, and also depends on what you are getting done. But for visiting or just going along with somebody for an appointment, it might be nice. I know in other states you can CC into them, but with OC just seem to think people getting more scared than normal.

Had an appointment yesterday....haven't tried it though and not sure if I'm gonna in the future.

In other jurisdictions carry in 'medical facilities' is prohibited.

I was a very exceptional American Red Cross apherisis donor for more than ten years, donating at the maximum rate allowed and usually a double volume. I supported many patients whose compromised immune systems could not tolerate combined platelet transfusions.

My participation ended when the ARC claimed their blood center a 'medical facility' and unilaterally prohibited my gun carry there even after ten years.

As Doug like to tout, SITE! I can find no prohibition in State law and anything more strict than state in illegal.

Here's the reason I brought this up, something I found and read yesterday...

Flash report - Glasgow shooting incident‏

Confirmed: There was a shooting incident in Glasgow, Montana on
Saturday afternoon. Besides the shooter, one person was killed and
two were injured. Police locked down the community, warned people to
lock doors and stay inside, and followed a blood trail which
eventually led to the deceased shooter.

Unconfirmed but probable: The shooter made his attack at a local
hospital and killed a female Emergency Medical Technician. Scott
Billingsly was present because his wife works at the hospital. Scott
has a Montana concealed weapon permit, was armed, and engaged the
shooter in defense of himself and others. Scott was injured in the
hand and Scott's wife was also injured. The shooter was seriously
injured and was driven off by Scott's armed engagement of the
shooter. The seriously wounded shooter sought shelter, leaving the
blood trail that law enforcement followed, where they found the
shooter dead of a possibly self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The people of Glasgow who know these details are highly thankful that
an armed citizen was present and able to interdict the killer before
he could kill more than the one person murdered, possibly saving the
lives of many other hospital employees.

I glanced through statutes and regulations and saw nothing pertaining to hospitals and firearms. I did an internal search (using the site's search function) and an external site search ("firearms site:www.gundluth.org") and got no hits from either Mayo Health Systems or Gundersen Lutheran.

Well guess this answers my question, although he didn't send me a copy of the policy like I requested.
