FFL transfer?

So, I want to get one of my firearms here to TX so that I have a HD weapon.

And it seems that I'm going to have to pay a FF transfer fee at both gun stores?

So roughly $100 just to have my weapon shipped to me, and a background check on a weapon I already own.

Am I doing it wrong or what?

Yes, you are doing it wrong. If you are shipping a weapon across state lines then the person on the receiving end MUST be an FFL, but NOT on the sending end. Occasionally a dealer will request that a weapon be shipped from an FFL, but that is not required by law. It is unclear to me exactly where the weapon is and what you are doing, but if you do have a dealer in TX that wants the weapon to come from an FFL then I'd be happy to ship it out for you for zero charge. Conversely, if you have a weapon in TX and need to get it here I'll also handle the transfer for you free of charge on this end.

Let me know if I can help.

PS. $50 for a transfer is ridiculous in my mind. I'm not even charging that to handle class 3 stuff...
