Tribes tend to be a lot more informal, and a friendly conversation and respect goes a long way. Don't take offense at a perceived rudeness, often times you are just being sized up for what type of person you are. I know from personal experience.

The Tulalip Tribal Police have recently been "certified" and most officers are cross sworn as Snohomish County Deputies so they don't have to wait to arrest someone for violations on the "Res". The upside of this is that the officers actually received training on State Laws and more likely than not are aware that OC is Legal (as taught now in the "Academy").
