Hey all, just a thought, lets make a list of abbreviations. Some are easy, some arent. If nothing else, write it out the first time, abbreviate later.

The list has been published here a number of times, 'multiple times' as the archly au courrant like to say. Better, become literate in the jargon of the discussion and regard acronyms as 'words'.

Than give us poor ignorant souls a link. So we may impress the au courrant with our literacy.

Wrong answer. "Use of abbreviations and acronymns shold be minimized and always defined." OCDO Rule 8.

In particular, texting and other shortcut acronyms for phrases should be avoided entirely.

Seriously. Can we get one of the half-trillion abbreviations threads stickied or something?

Much like the constitution, that rule isn't worth the virtual paper it's written on, because no one follows it.

I'm sorry Mike but I have to agree. While people don't over abbreviate most of the time, it would still be nice to have a reference for abbreviations. Isn't it hard enough enforcing rules on this forum anyway since there are no moderators.
