i have the same problem during the summer because i sweat, and it gets through the holster. a light coat of rem oil works good, just lightly spray a cloth and wipe it down before you put it in your holster, then ever night before you go to bed take it out and wipe it down again.

Its just a Western gun getting acclimated to the East. Give it time, it'll get used to it.

Getting it used to grits might take a little longer.
