SNIP:

"Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, said people are entitled to carry weapons outside such events if local laws allow it. "There are laws that govern firearms that are done state or locally," he said. "Those laws don't change when the president comes to your state or locality."

Anti-gun campaigners disagreed with Gibbs's comments, voicing fears that volatile debates over health-care reform are more likely to turn violent if gun control is not enforced.

"What Gibbs said is wrong," said Paul Helmke, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. "Individuals carrying loaded weapons at these events require constant attention from police and Secret Service officers. It's crazy to bring a gun to these events. It endangers everybody.""

What POTUS and his spokesholes will never admit publicly is that they didn't choose all his town hall sites to be in open carry areas by accident.

Open carry deters crime, riots, and assassins. Where were the town halls where violence broke out? Ybor City, FL (state ban), and St. Louis, MO (county and/or city ban not blocked by preemption).

POTUS is no moron to avoid a repeat of recent history.

Hmmm, an early solid pro-gun WIN for us from Obama. That's a very pro-gun, pro-RKBA comment. So far, I haven't seen horns sprouting out of the man's head.

Maybe we could send him a nice invitation to go trap shooting or bowling pin shooting with us? He's a smart guy, seems cool, and he likes sports. He'd probably be pretty good.

Going by what Paul Helmke said, shouldn't we require constant attention through censorship the freedom of speech during these town hall meetings as well?

It would be a very peaceful and quiet world by then.
