Question regarding school zones/public vs. private property

Hello Everyone. I heard one of the radio ads the other day and looked up the site and I'm really impressed. I've been reading a lot of the state statutes and have a question regarding private property with the 1000 feet of a schools grounds.

Are sidewalks and city streets considered public or private property?

I live within 1000 feet of a school so I know I'm good on my property but if I step onto the street to walk to the store would I then become in violation of the law?

One other thing, do colleges and tech schools also fall within this law?

menomonieman,

Streets and sidewalks are PUBLIC property.

The 1000' school zone laws only apply to K-12 schools, not colleges and trade schools.

From one relative newby (but longer time lurker), welcome to the forums!
