IIRC, that happened quite a while ago...and nothing ever became of it. Just some venting by a tiny minority no one in power cares to hear from or cares about. The 'subjects' of UK sold out their civil rights long ago for more 'security' and it looks to stay that way.

Our future...a pathetic futile protest now and then?

Sad to state, but Cloudcraft is right. Seen the video enough times to have memorized both the chants and the speeches.

Very much like the crowds at the town hall meetings - upset but still maintaining the basic rules of social order. Nobody brought tar, feathers and a rail with the intent of using them.

We on this side of the pond have a more recent history of moving from discourse to action, but the Brits, once they get sufficiently riled up, have been known in the past to go so far as to cause heads to roll. There seem to be different reasons on each side of the pond for saying that time is coming, but if the .gov does not take heed we may in fact see a return to outright action.

    Scary thought.

    stay safe.

MEP (Member of European Parliament) Daniel Hannan has an inspiring speech at the link below.

(Separately, take notice of what he says about the EU Constitution--voted down by France, Holland, and Ireland; and yet Brussels is moving forward with implementation as though its been ratified.)

I'll make you an offer: I will argue and fight for all of your rights, if you will do the same for me. That is the only way freedom can work. We have to respect all rights, all the time--and strive to win the rights of the other guy as much as for ourselves.

If I am equal to another, how can I legitimately govern him without his express individual consent?

There is no human being on earth I hate so much I would actually vote to inflict government upon him.

Hmmm. I wonder what would happen if a few protesters showed up with five gallon white paint buckets labeled "TAR", and few others with old pillow cases labeled, "FEATHERS."

Maybe its time for a little third-world "burning in effigy".

If that was for tarring & feathering a referee, hordes of UK soccer hooligans would gladly and enthusiastically (!!) show up in force...like they did recently during the latest riot at a doesn't-mean-anything-it's-just-stupid-sportsgame.

Just don't expect the UK losers to stand up for anything serious like civil rights, especially the right of self-defense.

Maybe the are going about it all wrong, we should be using the ignorant masses
to our advantage insted of pittying them.

They need to start a rumor that the government is banning guns so they can
desecrate the koran. You will not be able to defend it from pig fat sweating
    political hacks without your arms.
That seems to be the only group that will still fight over there. If not
they sure do some good fake news footage.

Over here we need to start arguing that you need a gun to get those crooks
to hand over your welfare check maybe.
Why else would the violent felons be given 'stimulus checks' and no one
    else gets them?
It must be that they had guns.

This is what the Brady Campaign has in store for the U.S. They envision only criminals with guns obtained from a black market, women being raped on a daily basis, and homeowners in daily fear for their lives.

Oh come now, won't the bobbies (er I mean National Police Force of the USA) protect us? Isn't that their duty? I mean, I know those old neanderthals on the SCOTUS said the police don't have a responsibility to protect us but.... they do don't they?

I mean... If we get gun-powder sniffers on every street corner and acoustic telemetry systems that will triangulate where gun-shots came from on every street corner and combine that with state of the art digital cameras... We'll be safe then right?

I just want to feel safe, knowing that anyone who has a gun will be caught red-handed in no-time...

I'm just trying to visualize what the outcome would have been had the people of Iran had weapons. Hmmm I'm thinking that it would have had a far different outcome for the protesters. I'm wondering why the Communist News Network and the other Govt. run media aren't covering the "trials" or whatever they want to call them in Iran and telling US how many of those freedom desiring people have been murdered for their cause. Why have they taken a 10-shutup about it?
As to "Jolly Olde England" I'm wondering just how long it's going to take them to rise up about their socialized medicine since only 4000 Mothers had to give birth in toilets in hallways and elevators and on the streets since there's no room for them in the hospitals.
Of course, I'm also wondering, about how long as the song says,,can this keep goin on,,,
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country!
    Keep your powder dry!
‘‘Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.’’ Thomas Jefferson
