Just got an update from City Council. Their code has been amended to remove the restriction on firearms in parks. They have also removed the city code that granted the Mayor the authority to restrict the possession of firearms in public during a declared emergency.

All in all, once of the nicest bunch of people I've contacted. They were polite, efficient, and helpful, and addressed both sections of code quickly after my first email to them.
