Anyone planning to attend any of the various Tea Party, 9/12, Obamacare, ad nauseum protests?

Anyone going to DC?

I'm not going to DC but I'm thinking of going to Capitol in Olympia, where I've seen several "meetups" advertised for around noon-1pm...

The TEA parties are a bit too socialist for me, but since it's gonna be a big one, I think I might go. Presuming I have my car back by then, I should be able to give rides along I5 from Seattle.

What I mean is, the people there tend to support a lot of socialist government programs.

The reason for the TEA parties is less government. Less government and socialist government cannot coexist.

What I like about the TEA party movement is the differing opinions. This isn't some monolithic sheep convention. Everyone has their opinions on various subjects, like me: I'm for gay marriage, but we can all agree we've been taxed enough.

Um, why would anyone choose to go tosomebody else's protest just to open carry?

This sends at best aconfused and garbled message that is hurtful to our cause - this website and online community is about normal open carry in everyday life, a task that is difficult enough already.

How close to my house does a protest have to be before it's considered "my" protest and not "somebody else's"?

My mistake. I thought this community was also about the general exercising of 2A rights. And since 2A is a fundamental part of our freedoms, it really seems natural to me to take the opportunity of a limited government protest to also OC.

I'm wondering whether your idea of everyday life somehow excludes protesting (which is exercising 1A rights), or whether you are just on the other side of the Tea Party movement. To me, there's nothing hurtful to our cause in OC'ing at such an event.

May I make a suggestion.I've read editorials like you've cited too.after the Oc thing at the Obama event they got Alan Gottlieb (the head of the SAF) to say that he thought that doing so was unwise.Claiming that it wasn't the time or the place.putting gun rights at risk.Lets note do anything to upset people like Alan, or the many sheeple out there who are hoplophobes and illogical to boot.
