I am new to the New Mexico Firearms forum..., but I have a few questions for anyone who would know the answer.
Why does New Mexico per, NMC 30-7-3, prohibit all Firearms in all establishments Licensed to sell Alcohol, regardless if they are loaded or not, except for a Concealed Handguns for those who have Concealed Handgun Permits?
Did something happen in an Alcohol-based establishment that promted the creation of this Law to make this action a Felonous Crime?
Finally, does this prohibition apply to all establishments that sell Alcohol including Grocery Stores, Licquor Stores, etc.?
This prohibition seems strange, because otherwise New Mexico seems to be well in line with Arizona-style Firearms Laws. Is there any Legislative effort to Legalize this behavior, or to repeal 30-7-3?
I do not mean to prove pechulant, but a 19 year old person with a unconcealed Pistol is Legal in New Mexico, right. So, why does He become a Felon when He walks into a Grocery Store with a unconcealed Pistol?
