It raises my dander a bit when police or anti's aire their opinion of OC in their little clever sound bites.

They came up in my detainment and I kept my wits enough to respond to the garbage excuses why OC isn't appropriate:

I was told "that this isnt the wild west"--

My response- Yeah, you're right, crime is much worse now...

I have heard "that this isnt TEXAS"...

My response- Youre right. Open Carry is illegal in TEXAS and six other states... None of which is California.

If you have heard similar sound bite objections that have no reasonable foundation in fact... list them here and we will see what we can do to think of some quick comebacks...

    Your detainment?

From a couple years ago, or were you detained again recently?

Cop - "Are you on any drugs?"

    Me - "No."

Cop - Suggestively "Should you be?"

Me - "Well, your questions and this heat are giving me a headache."

    Oh, and

S: "You shoudn't leave the gun case in the back seat. . . someone might break into your car to steal your gun."

A: "It's a good thing I would have it on me then, isn't it?"

    Officer McFriendly: This isn't Texas
Me: You know, Texas hasn't allowed open carry since the 60s.
Officer McFriendly: You know what, whatever.
    Me: Hey, you said it!

Add that little something extra to any refusal or negative statement by including the words "duh" or "what-ever." Be sure to pause slightly between "what" and "ever."

LOL. I would've liked to seen their face after that one.
