Wisconsin: Green Bay Strikes Down Ordinance Against Open Carry in Parks!

Please Thank the Green Bay City Council Members!

On Tuesday, September 1, the Green Bay City Council successfully defeated an anti-gun ordinance (8-3) that would have prohibited law-abiding gun owners from openly carrying firearms in parks.

The ordinance (#32-09) was previously passed by the Parks Committee with only one dissenting vote (Alderman Dan Piton). Ordinance #32-09 would have violated Wisconsin’s firearms preemption law which prohibits localities from enacting laws more stringent than state law.

Please contact the Green Bay City Council members listed below and thank them for blocking this anti-gun ordinance and protecting your Second Amendment Rights. You can find their contact information listed below.

Cool! I think this is the first time I have seen the NRA actually use the term "Open Carry" and "Second Amendment Rights" in the same release, tying them together.

Doesn't look like they are claiming they did anything; just asking NRA members to thank the city council members for their vote.
