Desert Hot Springs, CA officials to reconsider firearms ordinance?

The news article indicates this ban only applies on city property. which is permitted under CA preemption law.

Gov't buildings are already covered by state law.

City property open to the public (e.g. parks) is probably the gray area they're reconsidering as preempted.

ETA: Just had a thought... might be they are simply reconsidering adding an exemption for CCW permitees. If the NRA is involved, you can bet it's because there's no CCW exemption. I don't believe they'd randomly start opposing anti-OC ordinances (which this obviously is).

If I'm not mistaken CGF is already working on this and made some progress. I could be wrong. But you know them over there...this is all UOC'ers fault and the sky is falling. Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
