This was kinda funny but also a bit weirded out too.

Today I was at Fred Mayers on Fairview for about an hour and 20 minutes. When I walked into the door my family headed into the grocery section to shop and I turned towards the Tully Coffeeshop sitting area.

As I walked to the counter an old guy (late 60's or more) looked at me then, pointing at my hip, asked, "Is that a gas gun?" I walked by him and responded with a simple, "No sir."

After I got in line behind the person already at the counter, he looked over and said (louder this time), "Looks like a gas gun to me." I replied. "No sir, it's a Czech handgun, metal frame, .40 caliber."

I got mycoffee, sat down one table away from himand opened up a book I had carried in and read for about 5 minutes before he stood up and said something like, "Still looks like a gas gun to me." I replied, "Take care, have a nice day," as he walked away.

I don't knowquite what to think about this. Maybe he wasrationalizing that I wasn't really carrying a weapon was my first thought. However, I sort of wonder ifhe wanted me to pull it and displayfor his review. Granted, he was older and maybe a bit lonely but I noticed the counter clerk was a bit nervous as a result of his comments.

Left me disconcerted and slightly bemused.

    ROFLMAO! :quirky

That would have been snappy I guess, took me by surprise though.

Guess my comedic awareness was at level WHITE.
