Technically, you could manipulate any type of recording.

For extra court room admissibility reliability with recordings, you can set your phone to speaker and call 911. I have a hard time seeing a judge and prosecutor managing to toss out a 911 call.

The complete and utter truth can be challenged from every direction and it will always hold up. Accordingly there are few greater displays of illegitimacy than to attempt to impede free thought and communication.

Couldn't you get into shxt though for inappropriately calling 911 for a non-emergency?

I wouldnt recommend calling 911 and not talk to them about an emergency. Btw in court if the authenticity of the recording becomes and issue (normally it doesnt unless it's obviously altered) then pretty easily a depending on format a digital or analog analysis can be done to confirm its authenticity.

Well the people that use it to call about OCers don't get in trouble. No emergency there.
